Is there any way of installing scrapbooking kits into MMS directly? For instance, if I download a freebie kit from someone's blog, is there a way to get it into MMS without moving or copying it into the appropriate directory? Does my question even make sense?

Thanks for any help you can give.

I don't think you can install it directly into your program, but you can browse to the folder and use it that way.

you don't need to install it at all, just browse to it to use. the mms graphics in our store will auto-install, so they move the the right directories automatically. but you don't need them installed either.

Hi Carolyn - you actually CAN add any kit you buy (with jpeg files or png files) directly INTO your MMS program. I have done it and it works GREAT!! The benefit of doing it this way is that your kits/papers/embellishments will come up along with the things you have bought directly from MMS. I would be happy to help you do this, it is very simple and really is a time saver because you can create the files yourself so they are grouped any way that works for you.

If you need any help, I moderate the MMS Facebook page, so either post a question there or email me directly and I can help you out! Thanks!

no worries, we support the program right here of course. :)

you don't need to install to be able to use, but if you'd like the convenience of having them show up in the correct places (which is indeed convenient!) just move the files to the following locations on your hard drive:

backgrounds go in: c/programs files/my memories suite/components/backgrounds/theme

embellishments go in: c/programs files/my memories suite/components/embellishments

if you need any more help, just let us know.

backgrounds go in: c/programs files/my memories suite/components/backgrounds/theme

embellishments go in: c/programs files/my memories suite/components/embellishments

Alternatively:

/Macintosh HD/Applications/My Memories Suite/Components/Backgrounds/

/Macintosh HD/Applications/My Memories Suite/Components/Embellishments/

On a side note, does anyone know if I can rearrange my folder structure without affecting templates? It looks like templates have all their elements self contained so I'm thinking I can. I can never remember what backgrounds are textures vs. papers and would like to consolidate them all under papers. Will that cause any known problems?

Hey "Mama" - I have created my own folder and files inside MMS and they work fine. I have some things I have copied from other folders inside and from outside MMS and they work fine. I have like a folder entitled "red papers" and "lisas favorite wedding stuff", etc - to make it easier for me to find my things. I usually copy things into new folders so as not to move anything that is originally in MMS - just in case! With things that come from outside MMS originally, I just stick them in folders I make and label however I want!

Hope that helps!
