I decided to use one of my photos again this time -
http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/data/500/DSC_8308.jpg
would you like to offer me some colour schemes or would you like me to rustle up a colour scheme - Id love to see what you can come up with tho
You can rustle a color scheme up or someone else can and then I'm ready! (I'm no good with color schemes!)

How do you get a color scheme?
Lauren
10-08-2009, 10:51 PM
Just choose whatever colours you think go and then add them to teh bottom or side of the image

I didn't ask right. Where do you get the color blocks from?
Lauren, I think a paper made like that upper mid right of the picture would look great, with the orange spattered over the gray and maybe even some black lines.

Lovely photo! the first gray with the dark gray and white flecks - a granite looking background.
moog25

hmmm... How about a dark grey with very thin. scratchy lines of the lighter colors like fine threads woven in, with grungy edges.
moog25
10-08-2009, 11:31 PM
Just a couple more ideas:
The medium grey with a rough, homespun cotton texture.
The pale grey with a delicate vine (or branch) and leaf design in the dark grey and green, either all-over or on one or more edges.

How about the off-white background with green leaves stitched into it?

Well it started out as the medium grey but somehow it ended up the dark greeny grey....

In the photo they have what looks like a cut boulder with plaque. How about a polished stone or smooth granite type background
Great background Lauren, How about a Gold one that looks sanded, shabby and torn? Or maybe just a background with some of that gold color in it?

Ilove how right above the house there is a mixture of alot of colors and I really love the texture of it so maybe a paper sort of like that

What about a *cedar shake* paper, sort of like the texture of the roof.
How about a background with paint crackles

Would you like to see the coordinating kit as well or have it be a surprise......??

Rust is not one of the colors in your swatch, but I think something in a bright rust--maybe grungy--would be a nice warm accent for the gorgeous backgrounds you have made.
Ooh I would love to see the coordinating kit as well. And I love the papers.

I don't know if you are ready for element suggestions yet but here is one.
Some bits of moss to put into clusters with other elements.

Wow Lauren, I LOVE these papers so much!! I don't know if you're ready for elements yet but I agree with a bit of moss, maybe an old woody frame, a branch of rusty orange leaves...:)
How about a metal "plaquelike" plate. you could even put some embossed swirls or vine on it, of course we will need brads to old it down please. Copper or veridigris would work.
Or you could make a slide along the same idea and then of course we'd need a ribbon.
moog25
10-10-2009, 12:17 AM
Perhaps a swirl element, a hook or a hinge in cast iron, a cast iron upholstery tack, a few links of cast iron chain.
A multi-photo frame like the small window in the photo.

OMG - I'm loving the foliage and cedar plank papers
Thanks for not keeping us in suspense about the 2nd kit!
okay elements.......
- a wooden frame that is slightly askew from years of disrepair
- I love the moss idea
- decaying leaves and twigs, like you would find on the forest floor where not much light gets to them
- a dense bush of curly vines that has a bit of that bright yellow we see in the background of the photo just to the left of the porch
- irregular shape slate tiles (like you would see in a walkway) for journaling

Torn dirty frame, like paper left outside to long
dried leaves partially crumbled
tarnished watch with fob
tiny pinecone
wheat looking grass

Hope I can explain this right: I'd love to see something like a branch from a catkins tree with the fluffy balls. How about little falling leaves with raindrops/dewdrops on them.

I think you need some sort of swirly something to go with the paper that has the swirls. Maybe a wrought iron swirly thing sort of like a pot hanger.
Lynnie
10-11-2009, 04:39 PM
Ok I'm thinking
a confetti of falling leaves - I love those....
Love the frayed edge fabric idea
maybe some burlap stitching for around the edge of paper or photos
a plank or wood sign for journaling or putting on a date
Gold sparkles, like the kind you would see on dust in the sun
Sun rays maybe
How about a leaf border
Acorns or chestnuts
Whirlygigs - those little things we used to spin of the trees when we were little, looked like wings
Birds, butterflies or moths
Mist - like you would find on the forest floor early in the morning when you can hear the birds chirping
These coordinating kits are just gorgeous!

Maybe an old wood tree swing like the frames
Shana34
10-12-2009, 04:26 PM
Oooooh I like the old wood swing idea. Maybe a spiderweb type foiling? Or and ivy and moss mixure like a climbing vine?
Scrapping4Him
10-12-2009, 04:28 PM
I love the idea of a vine, perhaps old and dead, but I think something hanging from the top might be a good addition here. So perhaps the vine could start from the top and hang downward into the page.

These look fantastic.
Maybe a roof slate to journal on or maybe a bit of ripped newspaper that has been blowing around.
A page bottom or sprinkle of gravely sand

Ok added Plank as per Mars - Vine as per a few people asking , Pumpkin as per someone else........ - and I did a little wapping of some of the elements in each kit and managed to add a journalling circle and some black susan daisies as well
