Here is our inspiration for the next round - we will be making a Value collection again so will be working on 2 kits simultaneously.

I need 8 different backgrounds to start us of

Background ideas:
Birch bark or peeling bark background
peeling paint background
grungy green background
background with green moss
light yellow background with subtle green/gray swirls/dots

I like the colors in the depth of field in the background of this photo. It almost has a green mottled berry like texture with a watercolor feeling. I think a background like this would be fabulous.

A background with a subtle grungy grid like line pattern

Too early I know... a frame made of twigs overlapping

I love these colors! How about a green background with cream grunge, or a cream background with faded brown swirls?

A paper that is either a mixture of greens or a bark like design with the effect of having moss attached to it in varying degrees of thickness. The moss being very similar in texture to the branch in the inspiration photo.

Oh and I'm going to jump the gun too on an element idea... similar to Heather's idea of the twig frame, perhaps we could have a page corner element of multiple twigs that could also serve as a corner treatment to a photo.

a cream paper embossed with the pattern in the pinecone - or perhaps a couple of pinecones embossed into the lower right corner

Perhaps a lighter color with a bit of texture with a peeling effect like the pine cone edges.

What about a paper with a soft, feather like texture - might make for a nice plain background - maybe in the darker brown? This reminds me - I must try this trick with the pinecones :)

windstorm

love the gray-blue/green in the birds. Maybe a background with those colors and some sort of repeated texture?
also like the idea suggested above - a background that has the subtleness of watercolors.

I know we're not to elements yet, but I'd love the idea of frames made from a pineecone like texture. I know -- clear as mud. :)
A twine string attached to a nail to be used as a hanger for the frames

The papers so far have a beautiful nature feel to them. Just perfect Lauren.

I know you didn't pick it as one of your colors, but I would love to see a handmade paper with just little specks of that blue in it! (think the green from the second kit in texture with the light brown and little blue flecks)

shazzt
10-19-2009, 07:32 PM
Well if you have a branch, you probably need some string to hang off it with some kind of clip or hook or something to attach whatever you are hanging.

How about something in the blue gray color? Blue spruce like? Old wood decaying barn walls? Absolutely love the birds picture.:yippee:

Great twigs and that stringy corner thingy is great too. Not seen anything like that before. No more suggestions from me for a while

honeymoon
10-20-2009, 02:53 AM
Oh... to hang off the string a little square frame and a little round one that match so you could have a string of them.

Some leaves to add to the tree or tuck behind the cone. Sort of wondering about some long spindly grasses as well.

Long seed pods like on the kowhai tree.

A page out of a nature journal... titled "Observed On".

Maybe a binocular lens/magnifying glass so you could highlight part of a photo.
