speaking of fly lady (well cause i just was...) are there any fly babies here?? i'd love to hear from more of you! and if you're not a fan or just can't over the shoe thing, please don't post here. if you can't get past the shoes to see the concept, it's lost on you!! :p it was lost on me for a while, cause i'm the type who must understand why things work before i'm willing to try. yeah, that didn't make calculus easy. (personality flaw, way i'm wired, whichever) but i studied thru her guidelines to see the what and why, and now i'm really digging it. some people like to get her emails and just follow without question. i don't even get them, i just take the theory and make it work for me. well mostly, the success of this site's sure made it hard! but baby steps! i'll get there. just wondering if there are many more of you out there! digital scrapping sure is an awesome hobby for keeping away the clutter!! :D

Hi,

I've been a flybaby for a liitle over a year. Flylady has changed my life!!!!! Just last night my daughter's friend came in and asked me for a pencil. I said here is one and the sharpener is over there. She commented "wow, you guys are so organized, I just love it". Now this is coming from a teenager!!!!!

Flylady rocks!!!!!

I've been a flybaby for about a year and a half now. I LOVE my life thanks to her! Because I no longer live in total chaos, I've been able to accomplish more than I ever could have imagined when the stinkin' thinkin' was consuming me. She truely has been a Godsend!

I like the Flylady concept and even signed up for her emails but found that since Im working all of the emails became too overwhelming. I did take inspiration from FlyLady and also Clean Sweep from Trading Spaces in March and we did a spring cleaning of our house. Well sort of... we got rid of 5 truckloads/explorer loads full of junk that we didnt use or need anymore. Now, DH can get into the back room and is starting to work on his model trains and I actually have work space for my sewing machine. Got all of my paper scrapbook supplies all organized- its really cool! We cleaned out about 3/4 of the garage and can actually walk in there now! When we get our new Explorer (hopefully this weekend!) we will be able to park the new car in the garage! That makes DH so happy!

you know, i'm very surprised she does all the emails. to me that's digital clutter, which is worse to me than physical clutter!! so i quit getting them and just follow along in my planner. i love getting rid of stuff!! we've gotten rid of a LOT! and i've not even missed one thing that i thought i needed just in case. apparently i didn't! :D

So, you really like the planner, Margie? I may have to look into getting that. But I agree about the emails being digital clutter! :)

not her planner, mine. i customized it to me. but i'm obsessed with planners. i think it stems from wanting to be organized...

I'd always heard Margie talk about Flylady and when I was asked a few months ago to teach a class on organizing and decluttering at my church I decided to go over there and check it out. Turns out I've been doing what flylady preaches pretty much my whole life. It's just the way I operate. I work in zones and set timers. It was hilarious to me that someone actually teaches this concept to millions. To me its just second nature :D

I've been aware of flylady for about a year now, got the emails and for about a month or two I worked in the zones. For some reason tho, never shined my sink! When I discovered digital scrapping, all housework went out the window, but I really need to start flying again....I should do what Margie does, and take her routine and customize it to my own needs! I think it will make a huge difference once I get going again. We just had a flyfest in my community in March (I had to miss it) and several ladies meet once a month at Starbucks. I quit getting the reminder emails, but I still get the ones from the group of ladies in my area. Maybe it's time I met up with a couple of them!
And Amanda, (you BO) yes, we hate you and sooo wanna be you at the same time!!! :p

I love Flylady. It's just like Amanda said: some people do this without thinking about it, others need to learn it. Flylady brings the habits of organized people to the consciousness of disorganized people! I "see" now. Totally changed my life, but what's the best is the guilt is GONE! Even though right now my closets are in disarray and my routines are paralyzed, because I just moved I have no guilt and know that one baby step at a time I will get back to where I was before the move and new baby.

My husband is impatient, but if it worked before it can work again! We're getting there :)

I have my routines in pretty scrapbook format here:

Excited to make new ones for the summer routines!

Oh Emma, I love your routines layouts. I wish I had known about flylady wqhen my kids were little. My daughter is 17 and she thinks the concepts and the timer are "stupid". Hopefully I am showing her by example and maybe some will rub off.
