Multiple selectiosn

I'm trying to translate a tutorial, but I don't know how to make multiple selections in PSP. The tutorial is written for PS and shows how to make a pencil sketch out of a picture. I love the result but I can't figure out how to select the eyes and mouth separately but keep the last selection. Does anyone know?

In the Selection Mode in the Options Bar, choose Add, or just hold Shift as you draw
