Hi all,

This is my very first post here. I'm brand spankin' new to DS. I am using PSE3. I'm really excited to get started but there are so many ideas running through my head, I'm not sure where to begin.

I'd like to make something that I can use for my computer screen. I have a 19 inch monitor.

****The most confusing thing to me is sizing! I'm never sure what size to start with, what size to save things as. I made a bulletin board and the file size was soooo huge I couldn't even email it. Is that because it had so many layers?

Ok, I will have a bazillion questions but my first one is, To make my computer background, where should I begin (with size)?

I'm also very new to PSE so, you'll all have to be very patient with me. Explain in laymen's terms PLEASE :)

After this project, I'd like to make a mini album.

Thanks in advance for any advice!!!!

Welcome to DSP! Have you read our Digital Scrapping 101? Click on the New to Digital link in the university menu. It should help to answer some of your questions.

But basically - you'll need to make whatever you design web-quality. 72ppi. You'll also need to see how many pixels you have your screen set to - and that will help you determine the size.
