I have a kodak digital camera with which you can take short video clips. I am wondering if there is a program I can get to capture stills from these clips. I just bought Photo Explosion Deluxe because I thought I could use it for that reason, however it isn't working. This is all new to me so any advice would be totally helpful. :)

I have done this by stopping the video at the frame I want to copy. I then open a program I have called Arc soft photo impression which has a screen capture option to import pictures then I click on the frozen frame. I'm not sure what other programs have this screen capture option. The only other thing is the resolution isn't very good (at least on my camera video option) and so I can't enlarge the picture very much without losing quality. Hope this helps!

There are several programmes that allow you to take a still from the video, most of them come bundled with the camera that was purchased. You might find that someone who has a digital video camera has software that would be suitable. Most video capture software would have this capability. Just as said before, you stop the video at the frame you want... you should also be able to advance your video frame by frame to look...usually one of the file options then allows you to take a screen shot.
What file type is your video shot in?

If you have photoshop elements, it has a feature that lets you capture still images from video. I haven't yet used it, but I know in a training book that I purchased it highlighted that feature.

Good luck!

In Quicktime playback, if you have that you just stop the video on the frame and then select file and copy the frame....
Doesn't Microsoft Movie maker do this too?
