I use PSE2 and have brushes installed and use them...I am no expert like other ladies here but I'd be glad to help you in anyway I can.

i replied to the email i got from you ... don't know if you will get that or not.

ok ... i just got one to load ...

now how would i use it?

i chose the paintbrush tool ... and then looked for a new category of brush ... the one i added ... and it is not in the list.

Hi Mike,
I found that if I used the preset manager to load the new brushes they wouldn't appear in the drop down list under their own name - they'd get lumped in with one of the other sets. I found it much easier to simply move the brush file (from wherever I downloaded it) to c:/Program Files/Adobe/Photoshop Elements 2/Presets/Brushes. It will then show up in the drop down list under its own name. I don't use the preset manager at all.
Hope this helps.

I do it the same way dlyn does it too....I dont have thousands of brushes like others so my computer can handle having them all in the preset folder.

ok ... i did what you guys said and got several sets of brushes installed.

the one that was not compatible is still not compatible. oh well.

now on to question #2.

how do you get ONE image from the brush instead of a bunch repeated.

lets say the brush is a page of grungy text. how do i get ONE image like that on the page.

thanks!

This is how i do it I increase the size to whatever is right...sometimes 2500 so it will cover the whole page. (FYI some brushes wont look good that big)

Then you only click your brush once. I always put my brushes on a separate layer from the background or photo etc...this way i can change it etc...and if there is something you want to change on the brush ie...erase part of it you can more easily on a different layer than if you do them right on top of your background.

The other thing is if you are using the same brush at different sizes you might consider doing each size or each click of the brush on a new layer so you can move them around and over lap them to best suit your layout...just a suggestion. :D

Does that help or did I totally misunderstand your question.

on the brush options line i found a place where i could choose DAB.

then when i click once i get one image.

but if it is not on DAB then i get lots!

ok ... now what else do i need to know.

Funny you should answer this Liz as 'how do you use and create brushes' was going to be my first question on Saturday.;)
