new at everything

i am very new to the site, digital scrapping ..... (i havent even done 1 page).. i am wondering how to download (or is it upload) the freebie layouts???? can anyone give me step by step directions in a beginners lingo?

you can download the freebies in the freebies gallery and then when you get there, you can upload your layouts to the member gallery. here is a tutorial (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/university/tutorials/winzip_vb.shtml) on downloading and then unzipping the freebies. hope that helps!
first thing to do though, is click on the link in the menu that says new to digital? it'll get you started! welcome! :)

Hi cmleon & welcome! You've found the right place to get you started what with many friendly members and well written tutorials -- there are even classes at DSU when you feel ready! As Margie said, the "new to digital" area will get you going with your new kits and help with the software you use.

Come by often and be sure to check the calendar for events that may be taking place in the chat room or challenges in the forums. I love to just browse the gallery because I get so many useful ideas from the layouts there. Some display awesome use of color, others are so well placed, and some have wonderful ideas for journaling and quotes. And there are often free items and prizes to be won!! Have fun!
