MULTIPLICITY is a challenge we will be running a few times a year - and it works similar to the "design with me" or pass the pixel challenges!!!! This time there will be FOUR DESIGNERS designing kits that coordinate!!!!
THAT means FOUR finished kits in the same color scheme, in the varying styles of the different designers! AND, at the end of the challenge, we'll have random draws to give away some of the kits FREE to those who participated! But you have to play along to have a chance! But don't worry if you don't win, ALL THE KITS WILL BE IN THE STORE AFTER WARDS!!!!
Here is the MULTIPLICITY GALLERY! (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=7359) So you can watch the designs grow!!!!
So what do YOU need to do??? GREAT QUESTION!!!!
Look at the color scheme below and think of a theme and some backgrounds that you know would be great for it - and make your suggestions!
The participating designers will be your "challengees" and we are all going to create using your suggestions and the same color scheme. Who knows what we'll pick? We might even all pick the same thing - and make it different ways - which will be fun to watch.
Who's your DESIGN TEAM????
Nicole, Elizabeth, Kim and Christine (that's me!)
Are you ready??? Subscribe to this thread or check often for updates! Here is the color scheme for this round of MULTIPLICITY. Let's see your suggestions for backgrounds first, and theme ideas if anything strikes you - and after we get a couple of backgrounds done we will take element suggestions too!

*Spazzes* Okay, I REALLY love these colours (but don't I always?). Let's see. Here's some suggestions from me!
Papers:
- Something that looks like hand-made paper
- Something with the dark purple and the yellow, maybe blotches or a watercolour look?
- I'm really drawn to that yellow. Something with subtle "streaks" of sunlight?
I'll be back to give more suggestions!

I was thinking it looked very bohemian like too but sort of like indian belly dancing style. Maybe some textured paper.

I am thinking sunset! I love the colors and they remind me of sunset on desert with all the tans and purples - thinking Arizona. Sandy paper, or maybe a leaf print, cactus with pink flowers, lizard... rocks.... not sure it would sell though.
and on another note, overlay with sunset and colors would be awesome! i am so lazy and love to use overlays that enhance photos or have glows and such...
I am thinking water painting type bgs or in contrast oil painting style ones with think daubs of paint

Oh I like Jenny's desert sunset idea! What about a paper that looks like those sand sculptures.

maybe a watercolory paper

A diamond pattern with any of the colors faded and patchy
a big bold floral pattern or something very geometric in pattern

This is definitely a Sonora Sunset theme. It would be great for those wilderness experiences we go through-either physically or mentally. Coming out of that dark into that warm golden glow. I think I see a cactus flower, too. The oasis is near....

I am thinking about the last 2 colors in a marble or granite type/texture paper. Maybe the lighters color as the "primary" color of the stone and the darker color as the "veins" in the stone. not this busy but this is the direction I am going

okay so I forgot to mention a theme, well since I am stuck on granite/stone textures & my hubby makes kitchens for a living I am gonna say a home improvement theme, I have tons of pictures of my parents and now my and hubby, redoing floors, painting walls.....and construction dust every where, along with the oh so fun and messy paint wars when my sister and I were allowed to paint our own rooms as teens.....oh I so hope one of you does a home improvement kit lol
These color samples make me think of an italian winery or orchard as the sun is setting. Sort of a golden glow on the ripening fruits.

OHHHHHH that sounds divine!
The first thing that I thought of when I saw these colors was a very down to earth, cozy coffee shop with a huge stone fireplace.

I don't know why but I'm thinking too of an older style vineyard with grapes and the sun setting over the vines...
The colours would lend perfectly to borders with grape leaves/ivy or similar and some mottled coloured papers.. like a sponged paint on an adobe textured building.....

Yes, definitely watercolor/mottled designs, or like an old venetian plaster wall. I love the cantalope, grape and golden yellow colors. Lots of swirls and a touch of sparkle. Think of just enough sparkle like the dew ices a grape. Here's some inspiration for you:

I love the Bohemian theme, but I also really dig the vinyard idea.
I love the bottom photo of the marble - it could be used for any theme.
For the Bohemian, I was thinking a shantung textured paper and also a paisley and baroque. Maybe the designs in the shirt and the bag:
http://www.uneek-geek.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/bohemia_blog1.jpg
And for that yellow - how about a really worn, soft, sueded leather

I love these colors. I think they would make for a wonderful heratige page. These colors remind me of my grandma's house....I can just smell it now. I think a few solid backgrounds and at least one floral background. I think a linen would also be nice.
I quite like SilverHealers suggestion of water colors.

Sounds like you've decided to go the more Bohemian route, but just to put my two cents in....We don't have too many desert, southwest themed kits. I love the idea of cactus flowers, red rocks and geckos....But
The italian countryside sounds cool also!

Those colors are just wonderful. Love all those suggested themes. But I think the bohemian theme is most appealing to me.
Suggestions for backgrounds:
~ I'd love to see a purple one, really rich with some swirls
~ the yellow one could be contrasting gentle, with fabric texture
~ the green one could have some stitched flowers

I absolutely LOVE the bohemian idea, I know we're not into elements yet, but with that whole theme I would love to see elements with glass beads like the earrings and bracelet in the example image. Maybe a brad with dangling beads?
As far as backgrounds, I'm thinking a rich purple background with a print in gold similar to fabrics you would find in India. Something like this below maybe?
http://www.exoticindiaart.com/books/fabric_art_heritage_of_india_idf972.jpg
Or maybe a gold background that looks like quilted silk. (I don't know if that's how to describe it so here's another picture:)

I'd love to see a subtle paisley patterned paper.

Just my 2 cents - Lauren does have at 3 three desert themed kits (but not with these colors). I love the Italian villa idea, but I can't think of what I'd scrap with it. I love the colors and I'm really pulling for bohemian chic style that could be used with summer photos.
Love your backgrounds Elizabeth.

I live in Arizona, so for those using that theme, you might consider using some of the "arched" ridges as frames - like the Natural Bridge, and a sandstone texture similar to the one shown below. A tuscan theme could use some of those beautiful architectural elements like balconies, arches, etc. I did an image search on google and there are some really neat venetian plaster designs that could be used for inspiration.

I like the look of busy backgrounds but never seem to use them...on the wine/sunset type thoughts I do use landscape type looking backgrounds a lot, one that look like a painting (oil or other medium) of a distant hill or sunset or storm in this case all sound like things I would use

I LOVE these colors!!! You should make a kit with them. HA HA HA HA! I'm also loving the bohemian hippie vibe!

When we get there, we are going to need lots of beads and chains...in gold.

Oh, how I LOOOOVVVVE Multiplicity!! Awesome colors again!
I have to admit, when I first spied the colors I thought of autumn, but I love the ideas and themes that have been suggested! All the papers so far are just gorgeous!!
Z---love the "dragged through the desert" paper paired with the sunset looking one!
what about a blown sand one and/or a wind-worn rock textured one?
Kim---beautiful! I read that you liked the vineyard them suggestion. If you're going in that direction, a deep purple one would be pretty. Or even the lighter with soft, barely there grapevines throughout or up the side.
Christine..love the design in yours. Maybe another tone on tone, perhaps in the greenish color with teeny dots?
Nicole..love the "feel" of your paper! I don't think I really have a grasp on boho-chic, so I really don't know what to suggest, but I'd love to see something in the greenish color?

Love the beaded bracelet for the Bohol chic - I like the golf also. I think any kind of bangles - gold, silver, beads would make interesting elements. Also maybe different colored crystals.
Love the B/G papers you all have so far
edit: that should say - I like "Boho" chic, and I like "gold" also. darn my typing!

Here is my 3rd bg in sandy stone with some muted color shadows on it.
I'm ready for element suggestions now after three bgs - and then if it turns out I need a fourth bg I will add it in later. I like to give more element choices if I can. So..... some scattered beads? What else? Do we want to add a realistic cactus and take it in that direction or should I go swirly and somewhat graphicky like some of my more recent kits - say, this one (http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_18&products_id=12453)? I can go either direction and I'll let you all weigh in before I start! Although it's already been suggested to add gold and I would like to do that, along with the overlay suggestion, so my overlay will include gold! Just need to know if you want desert flowers or swirls with that order! lol...

Christine---LOVE your background set, especially the green one! The rhapsody definition wa will be awesome! Like the earrings Shana found--an element like that, even in gold would look nice. Maybe some type of embroidered/stitched designed strip (in place of a ribbon) or a shantung strip with beaded fringe, lengthwise?
Z gorgeous bgs!! You do swirly/graphicky so well! I don't know how you feel about stitching, but I think a thin glinty gold bit would look great--even as swirlies.
A long, thin chain (looking as if it is kind of puddling up at the bottom) with a cream colored tag that can be attached?
I don't really have any new ideas...just wanted to come see what was new! Love the WA suggestions too!
I don't like these as is - - but they seem like they could be good inspiration for a Z element...maybe a corner element of golden swirls?

I like the blown glass frame idea - or a frame with melted glass blobs. Glass blowing is very Boheme, of course. Wish I could find a photo of what I'm talking about. I live in a very "artistic" town and about 1/2 the people here blow glass. And they get these little blobs of excess glass while they are blowing and they blot them off onto a piece of metal. They make some incredible accidentaly artwork. I can't find a photo, but I'm sure you've seen what I'm talking about. Just wish I could explain better!

Here's some element ideas:
Some glass perfume bottles & vases
maybe a hand-blown glass lantern that emits a realistic "glow?"
Something like this might make some cool "fasteners" (even though they are really to tie back drapes with).

These kits are turning out great. I especially like Nicole's crocheted flower and Christine's stitching. I like the little square "tiles" that Estarks posted and would like to see something similar in one of the kits - would go well with Kim's papers.

A good friend is like a good glass of wine.....
Pssequimages put the following note on my facebook/blog :)
Thank you for the chance to play. I love Celeste because of the blends you have made in it, the texturing on the papers and the soft gentle versatility of it, Kim. For multiplicity background, I would like to see a painterly effect with soft edges combining the browns and pinks in the color palette. I would like a small frayed or curled or rolled edge on it.

Oh, wow! These are all turning out so great!
Z...I agree with the wordart suggestion and the shaped/scattered sequins! How bout some ribbon strips? thin, horizontal ones, a bit shiny (satin??) in the various colors, overlapping a little, and stitched/bradded/stapled down on one or both of the short ends?
Christine Wow! I'm surprised your not blind after all that stitching! It looks fantastic though...thanks for suffering through it!
Kim...such elegant papers! perhaps a grape vine frame? a bottle cork? wax seal splat to add a date or something?
some other suggestions....
-some tear-drop kinda shaped dangling bobbles, something like an earring
-some gold round discs, dangling for tags

I looked for some with desert theme... are you still doing desert?
“The phoenix, hope, can wing her way through the desert skies, and still defying fortune's spite; revive from ashes and rise.” - Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra
“Ideals are like stars; you will not succeed in touching them with your hands. But like the seafaring man on the desert of waters, you choose them as your guides, and following them you will reach your destiny.” - Carl Schurz
“Those fields of daisies we landed on, and dusty fields and desert stretches. Memories of many skies and earths beneath us - many days, many nights of stars.” - Anne Morrow Lindbergh

maybe a copper strip for titling or journaling--the kind with brads on either end, like a bookplate thingy?

It's looking quite cloth/material orientated so why not a brooch. A nice pin type one (like a nappy pin) but in the design of a brooch - hope you know what I mean. Or the type that you pin in your shirt and it has a little end to push on to stop it coming out the other end.
Or a button.
Love the crocheted flower.
