My old Epson RX600 just died...may it rest in peace...I am now searching for a new one.

I loved:
The ink (but not the cost or the fact that it wouldn't print when one color ran out.)
The color restoration feature
The all in one
That it would scan slides
The ease in use

Because of the ink issue, I am also looking at other brands.

I see a Cannon Pixma MG8120 that has a lot of the same capabilities that the Epson had. Can anyone advise me as to the comparisons of the two brands, or just your review of either brand.
Thank you.

This isn't much of a review, but I have gone through 3 printers in the last 2 yrs trying to find one I like. I love love love my new Canon Pixma. Everything about it is fabulous and the photo quality is amazing.

Thanks

I love my canon pixma too - i cant stop raving about it - its the mp640 multifunction wireless printer/scanner - doesnt scan slides though but then i dont have any so not a bother for me - but its cheap to run compared to my last one ( epson ) prints on any paper and prints beautifully too

I have a Canon Pixma MP270 which works so much better than the last 2 Epsons I had.

You have all been so helpful. I have loved my epson, but the ink is unbelievable...good but pricey. DH would like me to look at other brands because of that. I feel much more comfortable with the pixma. Now I just have to find someone that sells that model.

Thanks everyone.

I guess they don't make a wide format. I have a Canon Wide format now & am pretty pleased with it. I have to have instant satisfaction. I will keep my eyes peeled.

Of course I went & looked & they do make a Pixma in wide format. I might look into that when this one dies.

Okay! Well I ordered the new Canon Pixma MG8120 from the Canon website. The shipping was free. Amazon had a 1 to 2 month wait. This site said it was in stock, so I am hoping to get it sooner. It has everything my epson had on it, and all of you love your Pixma, so I know I will be happy. Jeanrx, I didn't see a wide format. Didn't know they made one. That would have been nice too. Again, thank you everyone.
