I read this at first glance as "despite the institution"... which shed a whole new light on "I'm back there today to get checked out"[/QUOTE]
lol... that wassss a typo... it was supposed to say situation... but maybe in my mind I was thinking institution.

I just have an off topic whine and no one who cares to listen to me here - I have a kindle ( love it totally) - I love Harlan Coben ( author) - he has a new book Live Wire which I can go now and buy from a book shop here - I would much rather buy it on my kindle ( or any other e reader cause I have an ipod with several other e reader applications - but i can NOT buy it as an ebook - I know its an old whine of mine but this time i actually have the time to read the darn book and want to read it and dont particularly want the paper version because I actually prefer to read on my kindle ( didnt think i would but i do) - anyway WHINE WHINE... -
While Im whining about ebooks - i also read Alex Kava - I can get ALL of her books ( most of which are a series) on the kindle except ONE - duh.....- but i can get that from Books on Board and read it on my ipod so Im not so angry about that ........... - the whole thing is so stupid ...... the publishers need to join the 21st century and realise the world is a different place than it was when they type set books by hand and shipped them by sailing ship... ... oh well I may just have to get DH to take me to the shops today ( still am not allowed to drive) so i can buy the stupid paper book ( at $30 on sale which makes it even worse seeing as the most Ive paid for an ebook is $18 US

Hi, Im in Heathcote. Right up by the gondola. Where are you?
We're on the lucky west side - Riccarton/Fendalton area. I used to walk up the Bridle Path (near the gondola, for those who don't know the area) every week with a friend a few years ago, but then the friend went to Australia and I've not been up there again. I hear it's closed at present because of danger of rock falls. I know all that area and Sumner etc is really bad. :yikes:

Ahhhh Lauren! I feel your pain and loneliness!! Alas...feel blessed that you don't OWE $24,000 in taxes this year like us! And we have NO idea where that money is coming from!! My hubby after working for Xerox for 27 years was let go as part of a downsize and then was out of work for 8 months so we had to dip into our IRA to survive, and the IRS doesn't like it when you do that so they taxed the crap out of us! UGH! Thank God I am an optimist!

Well had it been in the store that would have been very easy!!- it was an element i made and decided not to use which is why it was so darn hard to find - it wasnt ever even saved out of the psd file - now it and quite a few other discarded elements have found a home in a file called bits and pieces ... so I can find it easily

Hey Lauren - I heard a tornado just hit Auckland. I don't remember where Albany is in relation to you. Is all okay?
Lauren
05-03-2011, 12:30 AM
It's very near me actually .. It rained roofing insulation here . It actually went right over us without touching down tho i wasn't aware of it at the time . You've been to Albany mall lynnie!! It's the larger of the malls near us. in fact I was there today just a couple if hours earlier.
They've said many injured and 2 dead
LynnT

OMG Lauren, how frightening for you all. The Southern Hemisphere really seems to be getting some very weird weather this year. Albany is where you picked me up right, and isn't that where we went to see Jenna about my trip to Queenstown. Gosh that's too close for comfort. And now I'm thinking about the one Steve saw on his way home that evening, that didn't touch down either. I'm glad you are all OK though I expect it's spooked your mum a bit - give her a hug from me and tell her I'm thinking about her - better not give Mike a hug for me, he'll get worried.:love2:
Lauren
05-03-2011, 04:23 AM
Turns out it was even closer .. It hit badly between our house and Birkenhead shops..Literally just a few hundred metres from hannahs school where I was picking her up.. The roads there ate still closed with police and fire engines everywhere ..
I didn't even know tho!! Till mum rang me to ask if we were ok ...

I'm glad you are okay too. Tornados are scary even when you are used to them. We had a funnel cloud pass between our house and our neighbor's house once. It uprooted our beautiful spruce and took the power out of most of the neighborhood for awhile.

Same to you all. I had a lovely day - we took Joan Thompson ( ebears) and her husband around Auckland for the day - and then i came home to open my present which was a lovely big shiny new 23 inch monitor !!- and Matthew had cooked a 3 course dinner consisting of tuscan vegetable soup, a chicken dish on olive mashed potatoes and a lemon tart - it was all very delicious and even nicer that he did it all without any help or instruction from me.
Then he set up my monitor for me - I just have to work out the best working position for 2 monitors but im really looking forward to designing today thats for sure.
