Hi! I have the MM Computer Scrapbooking magazine, which I absolutely love. I'm learning DIP9 and for practice, I would like to see if I can copy some of the layouts. On pages 91 and 109, there are layouts which refer to "rules" which apparently are very thin white lines that run either across or down the layout. Does anyone know how to make these "rules" in DIP9? Thanks for any help.

On page 91 (which is Margie's layout - incredible!!!), the description talks about drawing four "rules" on the image around the cropped area - they are the white lines shown in inset #2 on that page. On page 109, the description talks about the white "rules" on the left and top of the page that unify the design - they appear to be white lines approx 1/8 inch from the border on the top and left hand side of the page. This is probably such a simple thing to do, but I can't figure it out!

Hi, I haven't seen the magazine yet, but wouldn't "lines" (insert line, right click, change line size, change line color, and stretch it out with the sizing boxes) work the same way? I'm going from your description here so I'm guessing!

I think you are referring to guidelines - perhaps Tina or some other DIP expert might know

thanks so much!! :D had to look it up since the directions aren't what i actually used (that's photoshop, a hundred ways...) and they're just talking about lines. must be lines made with the pen tool, which i don't touch. i just used lines with the line tool. no idea in dip sorry, but i'll yell at tina, who can help. in ps though, it's just a line. you can hold shift as you draw the line and it stays straight. hth. Ü
I actually use DIP 7, and I know that 9 and 7 aren't exactly alike, but here is how to do it in 7, and it might help some, I hope anyway...
Go to the
A icon on the side> shape or line>line
then pull it to your length.
You can then change the thickness by
right clicking, change shape or line>line thickness.
HTH :)
