I thought I would start a thread here thats just for us to chat in -
Anyway I wanted to let you know about a deal on yazoom today
https://www.yazoom.co.nz/
Up to 90% off the retail price of A4 canvas prints - these are a bit different in that they are print your own canvas packs - and they come in packs of 3 - they show them done as a split pano or as a split rectangle ( 12) - I decided to go for it and I bought a pack of 6 - I thought they might be neat as a very long pano maybe 4 long??- not sure but at the price its worth a shot..

Incidentally Id bought a deal on another site ( grabone i think) for a 40 page 12x12 book from Photodeals.co.nz - well wow- I ordered it tuesday night and it arrived this morning!!- how quick is that !!- the quality is superb- though i would say if you are using them to use a 1/2 inch black border bleed around the edge because their software cuts quite a lot off - and its quite hard to see because you cant zoom in with their software like you can with artscow - but other than that Im totally impressed with them!!

Good to know about Photodeals quality and service, always nice to know about local companies. I'll be curious to hear how the canvas works out.

I am indeed Sharon - Im always after a bargain...- I did buy the A4 canvas deal - I had a $10 credit with yazoom ( which you get when you sign up I think) and so they cost me $30 for the 6

Im starting a thread regarding next years retreat - and Im proposing a different format than previous years -
I am thinking of running it a bit differently than previous ones weve had - this one will be more photo dominated - would be run over 2 full days and nights - and all day photographing - and then evening cropping/photoshoping , rather than all one day cropping .

They all sound exciting! On the subject of photo opportunities, what about the Ukulele Festival (http://www.nzukulelefestival.org.nz/nzukulelefestival/NZ_Ukulele_Festival.html) which is on the 26th of November at the Trust Stadium out West Auckland. Free entry and from what I understand, it is a pretty busy event. There are some photos on the website and it looks quite colourful: http://www.nzukulelefestival.org.nz/nzukulelefestival/Past_Festivals.html

There is also a rehersal event on Queens Wharf (http://www.nz2011.govt.nz/experiencerealnz/events/689-new-zealand-ukulele-presents-the-kiwileles-open-rehearsal) on the 17th of September.

Oh I got the 6 canvases today in the mail - quite an interesting product - the frame is plastic but its designed with double sided tape and unfolded and you actually fold the frame with the canvas attached - its quite clever - - I havnet decided quite how to use them yet but they look easy to use

Auckland library has a scrapbook exhibition on until March. Could be interesting if you're in the area.
