I am curious if you scan the old photos and transfer them or do you tend to play with only the new digital photos? I assume those of you who do digital scrapbooking are doing primarily digital photography  I am new to Elements too  What is the easiest way to learn it quickly :D I am IMPRESSED beyond with the digital world. I see so much talent on this board!

You can definitely scan pictures and then use them in a digital LO. I scanned all of my wedding pictures in and will be using them to make a digital scrapbook of those pictures.
So you can do it either way. A digital camera is not a requirement. I just like a digital camera because its instant gratification for me. I hate, hate, hate getting film developed- its a pain in the hiney!
What program are you using? As far as Elements are concerned- check out the DSP university for different tutorials on stuff. Lauren Bavin is teaching a class on making elements in photoshop7 which Im really excited about!
Good luck and welcome to the boards! You are gonna love it here!

welcome! many do one or the other or both! just depends. i've scanned my heart out and have done many pages with those photos. lately i've scrapped more digital, because i have them already on the computer so it takes less time. :D and do you mean elements as in digital embellishments or photoshop elements the program? either you can learn lots about in our university section. and feel free to ask for help on the boards. the members here are incredibly helpful and friendly!
