We're going to Arizona for a bit, but will probably come back to CA. Most likely after Thanksgiving, but maybe before. Though I doubt we'll get farther north than LA. Yeah, not really that sure about anything! But if we happen to be up there, I'd be in. Just dunno! :/

You know I would love to get together and crop/chat/meet, but this month is super crazy busy. We are heading down to San Diego for Thanksgiving, and the rest of the month is either soccer or volleyball games/practices/tournaments! Keep me in the loop though!

My life is always crazy and so am I.....so not only yes do I want to get together for a scrapfest but I would be happy to lend a hand and help you organize it. Two thumbs up!

BTW I live in Sacramento, Ca but I travel for work alot. I think I will be in SF twice in December.

I'll be in Portland for Thanksgiving, but I might be available for a road trip after that and before Christmas. It just depends on how long the road trip would be. How far north are you thinking for the location? I could definitely do a 3 hour drive, maybe a five hour, but the 7 hours to SF would probably be too much - unless I can make plans to visit my sister in Modesto for a few days while I'm there.

Oh how I wish I could do Hotel Del Coronado....never been heard it is fabulous and expensive! My office remodel won't be done for a while but in 5 months or so I should have a decent conference room by then with good wifi that I will enthusiastically offer up :tup::tup:.

Until then what would the location requirements be? Good wifi? Great view? Comphy with big overstuffed chairs and couches to hang out on? A fabulous coffee shop with decent eats, comfortable arrangements and don't mind if your there alllll day? I always prefer free or low cost but will travel (2 kids in private school and 1 in private college-I be poor :worried:).

Someday, sigh, I would love to rent a house in Dunsmuir, Ca for a girls weekend retreat and scrap-a-thon. There is a beautiful area with little cabin rentals and lovely waterfalls and the craigs are close by (old volcano). Good hikes (if motivated), great people and spectacular fall foliage. I discovered this gem of a town when driving strait through from Sacramento, Ca to Sequim, Wa. I stopped for coffee at a restaurant and found a Rotary meeting going on and crashed it.

Very inspiring group, they were so small the district wanted to shut them down but they outperformed all the other groups because they were so active and proactive, so the district has had to keep this little chapter. They help a great many folks in their community. Another example of a few thoughtful people making a big difference and the scenery is lovely.

Looks like we'll be near LA for most of Nov. Probably on to AZ for Dec. Maybe. This is subject to (aka will) change.

Hi Lauri,

My office is located in the beautiful Curtis Park next to Land Park. This is with in walking distance of midtown Sacramento (just south). My residence is in North Highlands with my beloved, his zillions of cats and popcorn machines (6). You could say I live at my office, when I'm not working on site on a project.

I love Grass Valley! I grew up near Auburn in a microscopic town of Ophir (I was an Ophir Gopher cheerleader, boy did we get harassed). Where are you in Grass Valley? PS I will travel to scrap:love3::love3::love3:

I would be all-in for a girls weekend in Dunsmuir! But not until after we've caught up (financially and physically:o) from the holidays!

Hi Kristievcat,

Yes, yes, yes......I know this year will be particularly difficult financially for me. Waiting until spring or next fall would be great.:tup::tup:

But in the mean time?

Dunsmuir would be great about 6 months or so down the road!!
Still trying to put something together before end of the year!!!
Still aiming for first or second weekend in December!!!

I've seen the signs for Ophir, and definitely have heard of/seen the Ophir Prison Marching Band. I'm actually down Highway 20 in Penn Valley, but absolutely nobody outside of the local area has heard of it - you probably qualify!! DH grew up in Grass Valley and graduated from Nevada Union, but then joined the Air Force (going thru Nav training at Mather before it closed) and we moved A LOT! It's hard to believe we actually made it back here (we were stationed at Beale until DH retired 3 years ago) and my oldest son is a junior at NU!

Hello Bendipez and other good N-Ca people,

I can do December for an all day scrap or even an all weekend scrap as long as it's close enough so I don't have to find housing the night--you can count on me. Thursday's look ugly, butTuesdays look good as well as most Saturday's and Sundays. I can do Monday and Wednesday as long as they are in Sacramento (crew practice for son). Do you have anything in mind? As long as I have notice I can take the days off!

RaeofSunshine

Hi Lauri,

OMG, I graduated from Placer and NU was so our rival. It is a miracle you came back. How did that happen? It makes sense to me you would want a piece of home after moving so much.

I would love to get together for some girl scrapp'n time, I posted my somewhat schedule just before this post. Or if your in the area just call me and I will treat for a scrapp'n lunch/afternoon 916-213-5342 (same to you Bendipez). It's so worth it if I don't have to drive and I would love to meet you all.

Hello All,

I am on staycation next week. I will be in the bay area on Tuesday for a class but open for the rest of the week. I have a wonderful hang out place down the street of my office called Coffee Garden at 2904 Franklin Blvd, Sacramento, Ca 95818. They have light lunch items and pretty good coffee but the garden is wonderful. They have a sheltered area outside with big couches and a dinning room table with chairs. They also have a quieter area with good wifi and great seating where kids come from McGeorge School of Law to study alllll daaaay. I will gladly go elsewhere, but this is one I know. It will be a happy day to scrap with you all!

Sunday is great for me. At 7am I go to the farmers market just a mile away on 5th and W right under the 50 freeway. It is the largest farmers market in our area, if you guys come-come early bring an ice chest. They have amazing produce but also mushrooms, olive oil, flowers, plants, cheese, wine, oysters, beef, chicken, eggs, bread, pastries and a guy who plays his guitar (he's been there every Sunday for at least 12 years that I know of). I am good to go from 8am until I get corpal tunnel syndrome!

I'm so sorry I wasn't able to catch up with you yesterday Rae! I was recovering from 5 days of volleyball games at various venues - a total of 9 games in 3 different gyms in Grass Valley. And then DS had an All-Star soccer game Saturday afternoon down in Auburn where we sat around and froze our butts off! By the time Sunday hit, I did NOT want to even look at the car!!

I'm definitely busy this coming weekend - I don't think we'll be back from San Diego until Sunday afternoon - but the next Saturday looks clear so far. Is that a possibility for you? Sunday Dec 4th is my youngest DSs 14th birthday, but I may be able to do something in the morning, we'll have to see!

No problem Lauri-I am supper happy you were contemplating it! I totally understand about the crazy schedule. I have active kids too and taking them to practice and/or games/tournaments is a big part of life. Sounds like you were pulled in multiple directions as well. I figured I would just keep putting it out there and see what happens. I know so many people in the neighborhood that hang there it's like my local community center, so it's always fun for me. Do not feel badly ever-please.......All of our lives are crazy in their own special unique way.......

Dang it - we have a volleyball tournament that weekend, I would truly LOVE to meet up and scrap instead of watching our team lose again and again! But at least that will be the end of volleyball for the season and I should have a little more free time...at least until lacrosse starts up in the new year!
