I've figure out how to use the retouch brush to recolor an element (just recolored a quick page) but I had something odd happen. I tried to use white as my target color, but ended up with a gray on the bit that I was trying to recolor. So just to experiment, I switched the brush color to black and I got the same gray. When I adjusted the "hue and saturation" I was able to get the white that I wanted. Is this because white and black are different from the other colors or was I doing something wrong?

I'm so excited that I learned to do this .. but now I have far too much choice LOL!

I just tried this out an I think that PSP gives you a color halfway between white and black. Not sure why though.

I have wondered about the same thing using the Adjust>Colorize on an element I can not get to the color pure white "overlay", just a grey color.

Then when I use Adjust>with these settings Hue -180/Saturation-100/lightness100 I do get pure white but it totally colors the object solid white and doesn't leave any of the detail, like it does when I apply colors to an element.

I am going to ask the pro's this question!!! And see what advice they have for this... :)

If it's a solid color (no subtle hues or variants) I want to change, I use the color replacer tool in PSP.
