OK, Here is the fresh Inspiration for our new Let's Have It! Challenge.
I LOVE the colors in this photo and the colors all compliment each other so well.
So, Let's go with this!
I am thinking maybe a few realistic elements, and the rest to be Paper Look elements!!! I think this will look beautiful :)
BG suggestions first, please!

http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/data/8485/DaisyCakes605.png?2844

I am not making a cupcake Themed kit, just love the colors in this :)

Help me come up with Backgrounds and Elements for a new everyday kit
from this beautiful inspiration!
If I choose your suggestions to add into the kit,
your name will be put in a random drawing for
the free kit after it is finished. I will draw three names for a free kit...
If this turns into a VC, I will draw 6 names and you get to choose which kit you want.
(Since I seem to love your suggestions and I have trouble stopping at one kit)

OK...Let's Have It! Suggestions for Backgrounds first, Please.

No, you cannot have that bright yellow BG...
But, I did make the lighter yellow one with white polka dots for you :D

Here's your Plaid :) I added some cute little flowers over it too, it just looked harsh with just the lines.

You just want suggestions for your kit? How cool is this place?! How about just a simple daisy pattern on yellow? I'm thinking small daisies, and not doodled. And I'm going with flowers like Queen Anne's Lace for an embellie, complete with those little black bugs that you can never seem to get away from when you want to pick them to put in your vase.

Absolutely! This is the coolest place anywhere :)
I like the idea of the tiny daisies on yellow and the Queen Anne's Lace Element...but not the bugs LOL
I'll get these done and post new PVs :)

How about a darker yellow BG with a very thin lighter yellow stripe or an embossed design?
a blue velvet ribbon
a row of daisy trim( the kind that looks like little lace daisies attached together by a loop or two of thread, very popular in the '70's)
I'm picturing a metal wire spanning the width of the page with spirals (like the cupcake rack in the picture)twisted into it to tuck photos into.I hope you can picture what I mean.
a brown painted journaling block

I'll be honest, I'm pretty neutral on frames. Possibly because I do a lot of layouts where the photo gets blended into the background with a mask, or scrapping with quick clicks where I just clip it to a layer. Hmmm. . . maybe this just means I'm uncomfortable with frames because I'm not good at using them and need to practice????

The frames I am drawn to tend to be delicate. So, how about, a chocolate twisted wire frame, a little bit fancy, not with jewels or anything, but with the twists? Does that make any sense? Probably not :p:

As far as the sticker leaves go, I was thinking that mostly because you said you were planning some paper elements, and I like stickers hehehe And I think leaves aren't overly feminine. And I think these kits are shaping up to be very versatile and gender neutral.

And dont you think I excel at run on sentences?

complete with those little black bugs that you can never seem to get away from when you want to pick them to put in your vase.

Eweeeeeeeee.... You mean earwigs? When we raised dahlias, we 'd have yo pick then and make an arrangement in a vace, then sit them on the patio for a day or so before getting rid of those things! That's if DH picked then. If I picked them, I would shake them out really well, upside down, before bringing then into the house. I buy them now at the produce booth. Now you really have me wishing for spring and the opening of the market. Addie, can I make buying more fresh produce at the produce stand one of my goals for 2012? :love2:

Ah, sorry Lora, that you don't live closer. DH went out and bought me a whole lemon pie so we could share with you, but it will be gone by the time you get here. We celebrated because yesterday we got the test results back and it is NOT cancer. There are other issues, but that is not one of them. :yippee::yippee::yippee:

I think the kits are coming along nicely. However, the "jewels" on the second kit look like eye balls to me. :D:D:D

The large yellow daisy and the QA's lace are the beginning of a nice cluster. How about another flower or two to add to the cluster? All tied up with s chocolate bow, since we can't seem to get away from the sweet teeth here.:tup::yahoo::yahoo::yes::yes:

OH! No, those things are just creepy! These were just little teeny black bugs, they just looked like dots. But I couldn't pick a Queen Anne's lace without them, no matter how hard I tried!

Cookie1943
02-04-2012, 10:45 AM
There is another lacy weedy flower that looks much like Queen Ann's Lace that is Poisonous so be very careful. If you are not sure what you are picking, was your hands immediately! well, wash your hands anyway, but especially hard using lots of friction and keep the water runnibg the whole time when picking and white lacy flower growing along Tge side of the road.

Oh Cookie! I am so happy to hear the good news!

Sorry I have not been in here too, I am having more and more pain in my lower back and I was told not to "sit", either stand or lie down...so I have just been lying on the couch and watching movies mostly.

Now, who was it that said my little candy dots looked like eyeballs? I agree LOL I was thinking that after I posted the first PV of the kit, but, I do like them for the most part I think they are cute :D

OK, so now I have added a wire frame and a crumpled paper frame, also added cute photos of my two men in there :) Which of course, I am not including the photos in the kits LOLOL

I am going to work on a chocolate colored bow and some more flowers for clustering now, and I am trying to come up with some cute sticker flowers and leaves too :)

Here are the new previews :)

Thanks Raphne :)
Yes, I have been in treatment since 2006 for this, so I have been through everything except surgery...which I am trying to NOT get any worse so I can prolong that part. Physical Therapy was laughable for a non curable disease, and Nerve block about killed me. I just cannot think of how I could be in a body form for 6 to 8 months from back surgery, with a 5 YO little man running around. So, I just am not doing surgery until I cannot move LOL.

I do hope your back miraculously gets better. I don't have pain often, but when I was pregnant, I would be driving and my back would all of a sudden seize up and I had to pull over, and it was just awful. To have that all the time would be miserable. The kit is coming along nicely, I love how you designers do this (ask for input on the design of things) and someday I hope I can do it too!

If you are not sure what you are picking, was your hands immediately! well, wash your hands anyway, but especially hard using lots of friction and keep the water running the whole time when picking and white lacy flower growing along Tge side of the road.

Look at POISON HEMLOCK - Conium maculatum. Also look at water hemlock. I have not been able to go through my plants stuff, but these looks like it. Very similar to Queen Ann's Lace. It is a perennial member of the Umbelliferae (parsley) family. If you look at the link below, every similar to Queen Ann's Lace.

AZALEAs are also poisonous so it would be a good idea to wash your hands after handling them. We have about 100 in our yard.

When I was a Girl Scout leader, I had a flash card pack with a lot of the poisionous plants printed on them. In survival class, well I don't even want to think how many years ago, we were taught that when lost in the woods, if you find something but can't decide if it is editable or not, to chew a very little and then spit it out. Wait at least a half hour (more if you can), if your mouth and throat start burning, you know you can't eat it. Here in the NW we have lots of poisionous plants in our yards.

There is a good website... http://cal.vet.upenn.edu/projects/poison/plants/ppazale.htm

Course, it pertains to animals but hay, we are animals after all! Anyway, it is a good site to look over. Every year here we get reports of people dying or in need of kidney transplants because they went to a party where the hostess picked her own mushrooms. We have lots of forested areas here so people tend to "pick" things.

Okay, now someone ask me what the difference is between venomous and poisionous. :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

My tummy is a lot better at times... good wishes and prayers for your back too!

Thank you Cookie! That is some good information to have. My gram and I used to go out in the woods and pick mushrooms when I was a kid. She somehow knew which ones to pick, but I had no idea. And I never really liked her canned mushrooms anyway. HAHAHA. I love learning about flowers. Mom was a horticulture major in college, but she never went to work outside the home until 20 years later so she doesn't do much with that information except her garden, which always looks good to Two Brown Thumbs Heather here.

Ok, what is the difference between venomous and poisonous? I'll bite! Also, I was looking at that site and saw that my favorite flower (mountain laurel) is also poisonous and honey made from the flowers is known to cause heart and other problems as well! That's fascinating. Makes me wonder, because we always raised honeybees and lived near tons of laurel. Hmmm....

If you want to make a mountain laurel based kit, Lora, I would be the first to buy it! :)

I am so sorry everyone!
Thank you for being patient with me.
I am going in the morning for an injection in my right SI joint. There is an SI joint ,one on each side of your pelvis in the back next to the tail bone, mine is dis-jointed somehow or the muscle is having a fit, and that is what is causing all the extra pain for me right now. If the injection helps relieve the pain in the morning, we will know it is the muscle, if it does not help, we will know that it is the actual joint that is messed up and that is a whole other story.
I have to be there at 8 am and I was told that it takes about 45 minutes and then I go to the recovery room. Now, the problem I have with this is that I HATE needles and especially needles going into my spine or anywhere around it! They do not give any anesthesia or anything either....So, I am not looking forward to this at all. Them poking the needle around, in and out several times to find the right spot and then injecting....they will probably find the right spot after I have passed out or died. (and I have and love my tattoos, no idea why it doesn't scare me to get them done, go figure).

Anyway, so I will try my best to have this VC done ASAP! I still have DSP assignments to do too, so I am trying to manage my time in between all, for me to be able to sit here as long as I can.
Wish me luck for in the morning

To make it short and sweet, if you eat it and you get sick/die, it is poision. If it bites or stings you and you get sick or die, it is venomous. Got it? LOL! Still think you'll bite?:rofl::rofl: That cracked me up.

I don't like it that we have not heard back from her. Anyone who hears anything, come back and post here for all of us. It could be she is just resting. She lives out in the middle of nowhere has to drive a ways. Hope that is it. My cousin had to have those shots and they hit a nerve and she was paralyzed for months from the waist down. So we will hope that it is a case of needing rest!

Oh My, You all are so sweet!
I am ok, but still hurting. About the only thing it did, was eased the burning across my lower back. This was not like an epidural, that didn't hurt at all when I had an epidural,....this was awful and I don't ever want to get it again. No numbing, sticking around in there about 8 times and injecting stuff at each poke ans I was so red from my blood pressure going up and up that they kept asking me if I was ok. I felt like I was about to explode all over the room. This was REALLY painful. I was not a happy person. Now that I know it is not working too, really sucks.
I have been jut laying around, that day I slept for a long time and my Mom kept the little one for a couple days for me so I could rest.
Doing ok right now and I am going to try to get some things done tonight.

Nope, my assignments are secret :D LOL Can't get help on those, but thanks for asking! I will get everything done, it is just going slow right now :)

Sorry to hear you have to go all through that and it didn't work! It doesn't work for me, nor for my daughter. She has borderline Bone Marrow Cancer in addition to inflamation around her spinal cord. The back doctor wants to open her up and the oncologist says no! She has had the shots twice, last time without anesthesia because the anesthesia was so very expensive... sounds like you did not have either. If they don't get it in just the right spot, it doesn't work. Even if they do, it only lasts 24 hours or so for both of us.

I had hoped for a better outcome for you. So sorry it didn't work. The only thing that has kept me out of a wheelchair for the last 17 years was swimming. I was able to build up the muscles around the spinal cord that way. She is having some luck with water arobics. I know you are probably nowhere near where you can have access to a pool. I'll keep you in my prayers because I know a little of what you are going through.

Lora

Yes, it just sucks. I think it helped a little bit...as far as the burning, but the joint pain is awful. I have an appointment for a consultation with a Chiropractor on Wednesday to see if he can help me. I will probably be going for physical therapy for it too after the first.

... And I'm going with flowers like Queen Anne's Lace for an embellie, .....
Chocolate twirly ribbon. Big yellow bow. I love both those rich colors in this kit.
We definitely need some daisies like the ones on the cupcakes, bigg daisies. And some chocolate colored discs or brads.

How about some sticker leaves?
Chocolate Frame or a wire frame
or a Frame like the plaid paper with the double edging

Wow, you were busy! These are gorgeous, Lora! So versatile; I love kits that look like they can be so easily used for masculine layouts too. I love the butterfly & dragonfly scatters.
Hmmm. . .
How about Butterfly Scatter & Dragonfly Scatter lol?
Or Spring Scatter?
. . . Why am I stuck on scatter?

Here are the drawing winners! The first 6 are the random winners :yahoo:
So, winners need to PM me with which kit they would like :)
(Give me a while to get the kits packaged up and uploaded, this is a bit time consuming)

I use Random.org and add everyone's names, some of you twice if you had multiple suggestions used, and then I randomise the list, the first 6 are the winners :)
