Hello,
My name is Karen & I just found this forum and am already fired up! I have been paper scrappin' for a year or so and am making the transition to completely digital.
Is there any reason you "have" to print on "scrapbooking paper" (at $1.00 a page I might add!!) Can you just use photo glossy or
matte paper? Are the photo glossy & matte papers acid & lignin free? Does the ink last longer on "scrapbooking paper"?
Please feel free to add any other comments or tips on going digital. Thank you for your replies,
Karen :o)

welcome!! i'm not sure i know of anyone who does print on scrapbooking paper. not really sure what scrapbooking paper actually is! :D most print on photo paper, tho much of that is $1 a pop too. glossy or matte is simply your preference. some of the papers are acid/lignin free, but that's not so important since we're printing photos on ink jets. the acid reacts to developed photos not printed ones, so not something those printing digital pics/layouts need to worry about. sorry, no idea how long ink lasts on scrapbooking paper. but most prints are stored closed in an album, so they're very safe. and you can always reprint if needed. there's some great info about starting out digital in the university...

Thanks for the link!
I have an Epson printer, Epson has a line of "scrapbooking paper" claiming to be acid/Lignin free. The good thing is that is comes in 12X12 and I have a printer that is capable of printing up to 14". Thanks for the tip: "...the acid reacts to developed photos not printed ones, so not something those printing digital pics/layouts need to worry..." I had not thought of that! Do you know anywhere to get 12X12 photo paper?

Epson makes a 12 x 12 photo paper, I think.

I do print on scrapbooking paper. I like the matte look that matte photo paper just cant give me. And in general, inkjet ink is acid free and so is the scrapbooking paper, of course. It dries quicker, too, because it absorbs the ink faster.

Hi,
I was wondering what scrapbooking paper you use to print on?

You can experiment with all sorts of paper to see what you like best. I print on Kodak glossy photo paper that I get from Costco (WAAAAAaaaaay cheaper!) or on plain old white cardstock. I like both looks, the cardstock gives a different, matte look.
