I've never been creatively stuck on a kit so bad before. For three nights I've opened it up and not been able to do a thing with it. I have gone in search of inspiration, creativity, you name it. I had decided to put it aside and start on something else - but then I thought of YOU.
You can make suggestions for me to add to the kit to finish it off. I can even take out what's already in it if need be. Specifically the frame - I'd rather this end up a grungier kit. But if I like some other suggestion I might go with that - so I left it in the preview for you to see.
Make suggestions and you could win the finished kit! I'd love to have enough for a VC!

Key West sunset on the pier.
A wine/margarita glass. Not really beachy but some Dune grasses. Ahhh, I'm all warm and relaxed now.

A wide acrylic (thicker than watercolor, anyway) paint brush stroke stamp. Or maybe try that as Addie's stamped frame. Wow, how many adjectives and adverbs can describe one single thing?
A baker's twine stretched across the page and wrapped around rusted screws or bolts, or brads to match the other elements maybe a knot or bow that would go on top of the stretched twine anywhere

mmmm, love the colors, Z!
I love those gears, too
I'd like to see one of your stamps. Stamps speak grunge to me lol
Maybe a stamp overlay, too?

I second the grunge stamp or overlay.
The twine, what if you could make it a wire look string?
What about a play on the gear and a flower combined?

I think a riveted metal frame would be grungier (if that is a word)
And maybe something else industrial.

How about a wire grid overlay, like a wire fence that has been pulled down or cut open in places.
A spray can or 2 and an overlay or stamp like a bit of graffeti art.

aww, I really like the frame. Can you just dirty it up a little?
how about...
a grid stamp
a piece of notebook paper torn out, with the torn circles at the top?

I like the frame too, and the kit can certainly go in that direction. I can take the gears out. They just don't coordinate.
I haven't given up on this kit - just can't seem to get it together this weekend! Thanks for all the suggestions, keep 'em coming!

If you keep the gears I was going to suggest a metal frame and some hinges.
If you take out the gears how about:
-decorative swirls
-two-toned ribbon or string (or both tied together)
Make one of your gorgeous overlays....I LOVE your overlays.

Ok, if we arent going to go so grungy and the gears go (although I love them and want to see them somewhere else, k?) how about a feather? that frame, those pretty backgrounds. . . somehow I just see a feather!

OK well when I look at the colours it makes me think of summer. I think the cogs and the frames are all good it is the grey background that is a bit indistrial. Why not go for more of that wonderful peach shade. Then add some summer items:
ice cream
deckchairs
flags
sandcastle
beachball

I like those "summer" ideas! How about along with those items, adding an umbrella...maybe a porch swing...porch swings make me think of lazy summer afternoons, evenings. :)

Perhaps a weathered fence or a gate with old hinges!

Okay I took out the frame and added the grungy stamp and the wire under nuts element:

Three more to go! Would you rather have a multi frame or a one-off?

One off frame for me and I like how this is looking

Thanks!
Oh and I would LOVE to put some rusty tools in here as suggested, but I think it limits the use of the kit too much.
I did add the metal flowers as yard ornaments, will show those soon.

I took out the metal flowers but here is the requested overlay and a torn paper frame since it needed a pop of color.

Any ideas for a word art title, like "Industrial Strength Boy" or something like that?

I realize I work on this stuff while most of you are asleep, sorry about that! But it's the bingo prize for this week so I wanted to finish it up. I'll do a random draw tomorrow!

oh, yum, Z!!! Love how this turned out, and I like the word art (which is saying something, since I'm not usually keen on WA as part of kits)! Maybe those rusty tools could be an element set?
Elisabeth

Well that's a good idea! I can totally see that, Raphne!
