Windows 7 is newly downloaded to my computer, and so far I do not like it. But my question is about the folders. All the digital graphics in them are mixed up and I cannot find a way to organize them.Example, the papers are not together and the embellishments are scattered. In XP I could just click on an item and move it where I wanted it. How do I do that in this windows version?

All of your papers/elements need to be in "My Documents" folder, then you can move them the same as you did in XP. Never put any content in the Programs folder or the Programs (86) folder, those are for programs only.

PQ I have Windows 7 on a HP 15.6 notebook I got and I hate Windows 7!
I even bought a book Windows 7 for Dummies for Seniors. Clear as mud to me.
What I wanted to ask you is I know you had problem with a new computer you bought. Who was the manufacturer? Did they replace it yet?
My desktop that I use most of the time is going and I need a new desktop. I only use the small laptop to take on trips that is why I bought the HP 15.6 notebook. I don't like it at all and HP techs don't help at all either.
I don't want to buy another computer that is not going to work. My old desktop is eight years old by Dell, but lately I have been hearing Dell isn't making them like they use to. I guess the only reason mine lasted this long is because they built them so good and gave you a lot to go with it. Not any more, they give you Operating System for now Windows 7 on any computer you purchase now. However,in the Fall Windows 8 is coming out and you certainly won't get that for free.
On my 15.6 they gave me some software that is purely junk as far as I am concerned. I uninstalled it. What you really can use they don't give you not even backup disks you have to make your own and no manual no email program, you have to get your own. What a racket.
I think if we all complain, complain, and don't buy till they get things in better shape nothing will get done!

CoolJam you should be able to Start>Computer and see your Desktop. Drag the folder to OS:(C)>Users>(your name)>My Documents
EDIT: note to self - don't use a colon because it causes an unhappy face :)

Hi Cooljam - welcome to the wonderful (and yes I mean wonderful) world of Win7.
From what you have written I am guessing that you are unzipping all of your papers and elements into one single folder, and not keeping them within the kit or collection that came in.
That's fine if that's what you want to do, but I personally did that for a while and found that once I got past about 50 kits it was too big and too awkward so I started fresh with each kit/collection in it's own folder. I also tried one folder for papers, one for elements, one for groupies etc, also didn't work.
Now, as to organising and getting all of your papers etc together, right click in your folder and select Group By > Type - this will put all of your jpgs together and all of your png files together etc
Now right click in the folder agasin and this time select Sort By > Name - this will now put all of your files in alphabetical order - if you end up with Z first, just repeat it and it will switch it to A first.
There are other options in that right click menu that are worth trying to see what you like or don't like.
As for the click and drag to where you want the item within the folder, sorry - that bit has gone.
If you are using PhotoShop, you may well have Bridge installed as well on your computer - I would highly recommend learning it as you will be able to sort everything into groups as you like, and search for specific things easier than using the windows search.
Hope this helps.

PK thanks you. I did the sort be and it worked, sorta. At least the papers and such are together. I miss being able to do it manually, but maybe that will be back in the next windows version.
Kiana, windows 7 is all yours. I do not like anything about it.....so far. I would go back to XP in a heart beat.
