Talky Time with Tina

no reason, just chatter...

Tate is in a play, that has taken June and swallowed it whole. Tonight is the 1st show, tomorrow is the last show!

He's so sad it's over, and while I feel bad for him, it will be nice to be able to sleep in and stay home!

Also, our big news is that we are going to Potter World with friends in Sept! We are SO excited! It'll be a whirlwind trip, but worth it, I'm sure!

Sounds like a neat trip. Sorry for Tate that his play is over, but at least you'll get a rest!!

Not much here, trying to finish up this class, and then I'll have August free to scrap and enjoy summer. The kids don't have lots going on, just the reading program at the library and trying to enjoy every moment of summer they can soak up.

soaking up summer sounds like a great way to go. Tate was stunned to realize he 'only' has 6 weeks left of summer already!

Luckily my kids don't pay attention to how much time they have left. Their only 8&7 so right now EVERYTHING last FOREVER!!! LOL

and when you are teenager, the school year lasts forever, but the summer definitely does NOT. LOL.

Nothing happening here!! Just chillin' by the pool. Seriously chillin', it's cold here!! Might get all the way up to 75 degrees!!

And last night on FB was pretty cool!! Tina and one of my good friends from Pepperdine got to talking....turns out they are almost neighbors!! Small world!!

Did I forget to mention it's 102* here today with a heat index of 114*? LOL

And yes, by 'almost neighbors', Brenda means 2 hrs away. It was very cool though! Fun chatting w/ her :)

Josh's car said 114 when he got in it today. YIPES! I am just inside enjoying the new internet we just activated today and the a/c. I'm going to relax with a glass of something cold and a little bit of Minecraft, and then I am going to scrap my heart out after egg sandwiches for dinner and strawberry shortcake!

It was close to 100* here today. I was glad to be INSIDE under the AC!!!! LOL

did you ever say that to your kid, 'you are my favourite.' well I guess you wouldn't Tina. I wonder if it's psychologically damaging. My kids spilled the beans to each other long ago.... 'mom said I'm her favourite, no she said I'm her favourite, no me!... wait a minute she told all of us the same thing... mooooooooom.'

but they each still pretend I meant it for them in particular.

I say that about my nieces, LOL, not to them, but to hubby. I guess I have certain things I like about each, and the ones I babysat the most are little closer to me. But I love'em all the same. I told my oldest she was my favorite, over the age of 10...LOL...because her and the other two are 10 years apart. LOL

Tina, did you get the terrible, nasty, scary storms that we got near Columbus today? My husband was driving when it hit and his car thermometer dropped 30 degrees in just a few minutes! Our power was out for over 7 hours, so I'm glad it didn't stay 100 out!

Yeah Tina, kinda wondered about those storms!! My friend Janet said her power went out and the sky turned black!!!

Tina, do you have a river through your yard? The storm was crazy here tonight. One neighbor lost an awing and it looks like the arm may have done damage. :( Our awning comes in the minute we hear thunder or wind! No electric in the campground now (so no AC). At least it's cooled down 70 from over 100. Hope the electric comes back before it heats up tomorrow though. It's sure nice to have a generator in times like these!

We were actually driving through it, on the way to Tate's play. That was fun!

It hit hard and fast, trees down everywhere. Not sure how much rain we got, it didn't rain THAT much, but the winds and lightening were crazy.

Our power stayed on, but I know towns all around us lost power. Even just 10 mins up the road from us was without power.

We were behind some extremely slow people (it was barely raining at the time), and tried to take a shortcut, turned down a road and a huge tree and power lines were across it! We ended up back behind the slow people!

Oh, and yes, Brenda, we watched it go from 102 to 66 in 30 minutes.

LOL Mars! I tell each of mine they are my favorite. . . but then I add a gender qualifier :D

I was dreading this summer when the winter was so mild. . . so far I'd say I was right to worry!

I am so grateful for 3G! Even when I can't find a wi-fi connection, I"m not totally cut of. I am spoiled though, because I want the speed and large window I get with my lap top!

We made it through about 30 min of the parade this morning before my kids were asking how much longer. . . they dont even want to be outside its so hot!

Right, I took my kids out yesterday because they had been asking, so we're out for about 30mins and they start going "what did you say mom, it's time to go in, ok" and I was like I haven't said anything yet!!! LOL.

It's STILL crazy hot here today. 101.5 + a heat index of 110. Supposed to be hotter tomorrow too.

Lots of family responsibilities this week with my in laws.

I did take a day for myself. My friend Steph, Tate, and I went running around for the day, out to eat and got frozen yogurt. :)
