I made a set of artists brushes for photoshop. I wanted to share. I'm not for sure if they work with anything under photoshop 7, but I do know they work in 7 and CS. Please let me know if you've tried and were successful or not with any other versions. Please give me your feedback.

They are easy to customize the size and textures. I've tried them in images of 8.5 x 5.5 at 300 dpi with great results. You can use them with a mouse, but some of the work better with a decent graphic tablet. I've tried both. I've also posted them on Adobes Studio Exchange. I'll post when their approved. I had yet to see a free user friendly art brush set. So I decided to make them and offer them free of charge. Also, I would love to see how their used. If anyone wants to post a link with an image of how their used please do so and I would appreciate it if you would credit me with anything made with them. All I ask is that you don't redistribute them in a collection or by it's self on anyother website and do not sell them. You all are really great and I don't think you would do that in the first place I just wanted to post that just in case there where any questions. They are free for personal use and commercial use just not redistrabution or sale on their own.

Here's an animation of what they look like

Sorry forgot to post the link to the Brushes. It's late and I got caught up in writing my message and posting the pic that I forgot.

Sorry about that. It was working. :(
Here is another option. I've posted it on deviantart.com so you should be able to get them from there.

I've downloaded the brushes and I've tried them out but not on a 'real' project as yet. But thanks so much for your generosity -- I'd never have gotten hold of anything this good if you weren't so unselfish. Can't wait to use them for real! TFS!!!

By Art brushes do you mean those that look like regular artists' bristle brushes and other media like chalk/charcoal, etc?

Would you mind sharing a little about how you created these?

well I tried to get them close to what regular art brushes look like and how they work with different kinds of paper. Yes, I tried to mimic real art media, by using different textures, weights and so on until they look pretty well. I can give you some of the things that I've made with them. I've taken drawing classes and experienced everything from pastels to oil pastels to color pencils and even water color. I just took some of my experience with these media and drawing surfaces to give the brushes a realistic feel. I have also made another set of them. I think they worked well with different settings of opacity and pressure. I use a graphic tablet to get some nice gradient effects. I hope I answered your question. Let me know if I didn't.
Sincerely,
Rachel
