I hope someone can help me. I would like to take a picture and turn only the background black and white and keep the object (person) in color. Does this software do this? I have searched the manual and cannot figure it out. Anyone who could offer assistance, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Hi, I am sure ther is an easier way, and no doubt someone here will be able to tell you how, but for now I thought i'd tell you that I have done the same thing, heres how i did it in PS7-Open the original photo and make 2 duplicates of it. On one cut out the object you want in colour, on the other change the image to black and white, then paste the cut out colour object on top of the B&W image and save as a new file. There is probably a simpler way, but if your software doesn't have one this will work.

Hi Pammie - I used to use DIP9 and this is how I did it: Duplicate your color photo and turn it to black/white. Make sure your black/white copy is above your color copy. Then, with your black/white photo active, use your transparency brush set to 0 and "erase" whatever you want to be in color. The black/white portion will be erased and the color portion will show through.

HTH!
