Need help with Photoshop 7!!

I am trying to take a picture, get rid of the background and put in a new background. I took a picture of my neice on a plain green background. I can get rid of the background alright but I have NO idea how to put a new background behind her!! I'm so frustrated!! I've been trying to two days now. :eek: Can some one PLEASE help me with step by step instructions on how to do this? I would be so greatful!

I'm still fairly new to Photoshop but I can try to answer your question :)

If you use the extract tool in the filters menu, you can extract her from the old background and make the background transparent. THen I would open a new file and put in the background. Then drag your extracted image onto the new background. Not sure if it would work but it was worth a try!

If you have already got rid of the old backgroud then you can simply copy and paste her into your new image or if you want to put a new background behind her in the existing image - then paste your background onto the image of her adn then in the layers palette drag it to below the layer with your daughter in it!!
