Journaling in PSE3

I read several threads that talked about journaling with PSE3. Everyone concurs that is a pain because of the lack of a "text box" type function in PSE3 that wraps text, etc. Some suggested using MSWord for the text and then pasting into PSE3. Keynote makes it easy to make an object (say rectangle) and then put text inside it. It makes great journaling boxes but after I paste into PSE3 and commit (hit return after pasting), PSE3 quits with some nonsense about running out of memory (Mac OS X, panther, G4 Powerbook).

Anyone else tried this? And had similar problems? Or found a better program to do the textboxes in?
