Hello Harry Potter Fans,
Well I was inspired by Tina to start this thread. So, first off thank you Tina!! As you know Harry Potter comes out in the USA on July the 16th. It will inspire many to have Harry Potter Parties all over the US. Many of them, like the one that Tina will be attending require you to dress up as your favorite Harry Potter character. Inquiring minds want to know!? If you were invited to a Harry Potter party. Which character would you dress up as!? AND....Why that character?!
I would dress up as .............Mrs. Weasley! Why!? .....because she seems like she would be ALOT of fun.....!!!! I could have fun with her costume! .....and boss all the other Harry's and Ron's around! :p

hmm..... good question... ponder, ponder, ponder. lol I'm going to have to think about this one a little. :D I'll be back later to post. Can't wait to see what everyone else post! I can't believe the book will be here next weekend! :D :D :D :D

For the release party I am attending I am going as Tonks!
Ripped jeans, Weird Sisters Tshirt, hippie type jewelry (cuz this is how I see her), and PINK hair! fun!
Why? Not sure, she just seems like a cool character!

ok, I've read all the books a couple times, but for the life of me, can't remember a character named Tonks! lol I would want to be Professor McGonagall...strict and no nonsenses clothes! lol

*GASP* You can't remember Tonks? Quick! Grab your should-be-well-worn copy of OotP and find her all through it! You first meet her when Harry is picked up at Privet Drive by Lupin, Moody, and the crew. She's an auror, the metamorphmagus who helps Harry pack his trunk to leave. She works for the Ministry, and is secretly in the Order. One of Jo's favorite "new" characters.

I hadn't really considered dressing up, as I will be going straight from work. But I have the Sirius Black Azkaban workshirt; so I'll wear that. I guess I need to find one of my temporary tattoos that has a heart with "Sirius" written in it, and put it on too.
*digs through stacks of papers*
Gosh, we're so close and we've been waiting for so long, and now I'm trying to throw a "costume" together and feel like I have no time!

i plan to go to the same party as tina! festival more like. i'm not sure who i'll be yet tho. allen says he'll be a muggle. :rolleyes: trelawney would be fun! gosh with my short hair i could look a lot like snape, that's sad, but true. not sure! :)

I won't be going to any parties, unless there is one here, but the next morning I'm heading to Wal Mart and I'm buying the book. I'd go to Borders, but that requires driving to the main shopping area. If DH wants to go up that way, I'll do that instead. The Wal Mart is actually in my home area.
Oh I would definitely be Hermione! I may be too old, but I have her hair, I'm short, and in school I was a bookworm, but always seemed to hang out with a lot of male friends that were always goofing around!
BTW, I think TONKS is one of the funniest characters ever. Is no one going to be Prof. Trelawney? I think she'd be fun to dress up as. Can't get too "out there" for her!

Yep, Tonks is so cool, and like her, I'm "dead clumsy". 'Sides, when else will i get to have pink hair and not looked at funny??

Um, made it to give out in a Valentine card swap for the Sirius Black fan club. Do I need to dig out the image for you? I just printed them on temporary tattoo paper which came from.... lessee.... MicroFormat, I think - you know the place that sells the metallic gold and silver inkjet paper. Those papers make great scrap prints, too!
I made some Remus ones, too, because not everyone has the same favorite Marauder, go figure.
Okay, here are the simple jpgs - but the white background won't matter if just printing them on the tattoo paper.

Tell me about Immeritus- better than the others? Mugglenet is my favorite site, of course... but the forums are SO large, its overwhelming....

Ha ha, Tina, my knee-jerk reaction in the style of a sports fan was to say, "Of COURSE" we're better!
Truth is, it is a very good site, and we won her first fansite award, but I'm not really pompous enough to say it's better than others I'm not that familiar with. I'm impressed with Mugglenet's on-the-spot knowing everything. I do get Leaky's emails. I like Veritaserum for the photos. I'm unfamiliar with Sugar Quill; I'll have to check it out.
About 2/3 of the way reading through OotP for the first time, I realized Sirius was my favorite character. Then, of course, the evil deed occured. (Although, I have to say I'm still "in sirius denial".) AT some point I googled "Sirius Black" and found Immeritus. I love the Siriusness of it, but in fact was most impressed that they require correct punctuation and grammar, etc., and I am impressed with the global members who participate wonderfully even though English is not their first language. I made a lot of friends there, like you all have here, and so I never made an in-depth foray into other HP sites.
We're based around Sirius but talk all Potter including movies and books. And of course we have some "off topics" as well, including craft swaps.
It was in fact a crafty Immeritus member who recommended scrapbooking to me recently. I don't care much for manual scrapping, but when I learned of the whole digital thing I was hooked right away. I've only been doing it a month or so, and was so excited to find the Digital Scrapbook Place. Wow. All I could ever hope for - graphics help and great ideas!
I'm thrilled to know that there are Potter fans here. Can we have a Potter LO challenge, huh, huh? Can we, can we? Purdy pleaase? *shows big Padfoot type puppy dog eyes* The word art one would be good for that, or just any HP LO!

Oh yes lets have a all things HP crop chat challenge! That would be too fun! Maybe the Designers would each contribute a graphic if we asked REALLY nicely! I don't want to do it though....not confident enough! LOL! LOL! I am so glad there are people as crazy as me for this stuff! LOL! LOL! I just cant get enough. I am going to check out all the web sights suggested. AND if I am up at midnight Margie I WILL BE THERE! <:P ( that little arrow is my witches hat)!LOL!

What I really want to do is a Pass the Potter Pixel. I tossed it up to Tina in a pm, and she suggested I start it, so I 'm going to do that.
I guess it would be in the Member hosted events so I'll go there and post the details soon. I just don't know who to check with about DSP hosting the kit once we get it done, as a freebie.
THEN we could have a LO contest; I'd have to figure out a prize for it though. Maybe I could make a couple of ploppers or something out of our kit, for it. I'm still new to this stuff; gimme a sec and I'l figure it out or find the right person to ask.
