Please reply to this thread and add your favorite quotes, sayigs and poems about BABIES! :)

James M. Barrie (Peter Pan): When the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies. And now when every new baby is born it's first laugh becomes a fairy. So there ought to be one fairy for every boy and girl.

Mark Beltaire: The first handshake in life is the greatest of all: the clasp of an infant fist around a parent's finger.

Cherokee Proverb: When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced... Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice.

Emily Dickenson: It is not a slight thing when they, who are so fresh from God, love us.

Imogene Fey: The birth of every new baby is God's vote of confidence in the future of man.

Lori Mainiero: Today I snug-up your blanket, kiss your baby-soft hair, and look toward your future. Tomorrow I'll straighten your tie, breathe in your cologne, and look back to today.

AA Milne (Winnie the Pooh): Sometimes it's the smallish things that take up the most room in your heart.

Alice C.D. Riley:
Baby's fishing for a dream,
fishing near and far.
His line a silver moonbeam is,
his bait a silver star.

Henry Robin: Every baby needs a lap.

Eleanor Roosevelt: I think, at a child's birth, if a mother could ask a fairy godmother to endow it with the most useful gift, that gift would be curiosity.

Carl Sandburg: A baby is God's opinion that the world should go on.

Barbara Christine Seifert: A baby is a blank cheque made payable to the human race.

Eda J. Le Shaw: A new baby is like the beginning of all things-Wonder, Hope, a dream of possibilities.

Elinor Goulding Smith: It sometimes happens, even in the best of families, that a baby is born. This is not necessarily cause for alarm. The important thing is to keep your wits about you and borrow some money.

Tupper: A babe in the house is a well-spring of pleasure, a messenger of peace & love; a resting place for innocence on earth; a link between angels and men.

Kate Douglas Wiggin: Every child born into the world is a new thought of God, an ever-fresh and radiant possibility.

Unknown: Teeny, tiny, fresh and new... straight from Heaven, God sent you.

here are a few..

Before I Was A Mom"

Before I was a Mom I made and ate hot meals. I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.

Before I was a Mom I slept as late as I wanted.
And never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was Mom I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to lullabies.

Before I was a Mom I didn't worry whether
or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom I had never been puked on, pooped on,
spit on, peed on, or pinched by tiny fingers.
Before I was a Mom I had complete control of my mind,
my thoughts, my body and all my feelings.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child
so that doctors could do tests or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby
just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a Mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me
feel so important.

Before I was a Mom I had never gotten up in the middle
of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was OK.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love,
the heartache or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much......
......before I was a Mom.

I like to walk with Grandpa,
His steps are short like mine.
He doesn't say "Now Hurry Up,"
He always takes his time.
I like to walk with Grandpa,
His eyes see thing like mine do -
Wee pebbles bright, a funny cloud,
Half hidden drops of dew.
Most people have to hurry,
They don't stop and see.
I glad that God made Grandpa,
Unrushed, and young like me."

What a Mommy sees

Snuggled up safe and secure in her bed
Blankey all wadded up in tiny fist
Curls on chubby cheeks that Mommy's just kissed...

What does she think, the mommy of this little one
As the day ends and the nighttime comes...
What does she see as she watches there
The precious little angel all covered with prayer...

What does a mommy see as she looks in the bed
And tousles the precious curls on that sleepy head?
How does she feel as she touches tiny fingers
And as over the crib she hovers and lingers?

What does a mommy think as she watches this child
All grown up and with radiant smile
Take strong confident steps to walk down the aisle...
Steps that turn her life into one of a wife....

What does a mommy see as she watches with pride
The ceremony that transforms her child into bride?
Why a mommy sees the same thing that she sees tonight
Standing over your crib in the moonbeams so bright...

A mommy sees love all bundled up a blanket
And a million kisses and hugs through the years
Scenes of pure love and laughter
And joy so intense it brought tears.

A mommy's heart is so special
And keeps track of each moment through the years
And sees love dressed in a bridal gown there at the altar
Through eyes washed clean with her tears.

Baby’s Choice.

Did you ever think, dear Mother, as the seeds of me you sowed,
As you breathed new life inside of me and slowly watched me grow,
In all your dreams about me, when you planned me out so well,
When you couldn’t wait to have me there inside your heart to dwell,
Did you ever think that maybe I was planning for you, too,
And choosing for my very own a mother just like you?
A mother who smelled sweet and who had hands so creamy white,
A tender, loving creature who would soothe me in the night?
Did you ever think in all those days while you were coming due,
That as you planned a life for me ~ I sought a life with you?
And now as I lay in your arms, I wonder if you knew
While you were busy making me, I was choosing you!

Just what I needed. I have recently became a grammy (grandma), my first grand baby (boy) is 2 months old now and is my inspiration for learning how to digital scrap. These quotes or sayings are great, I searched all over the other day and did not see most of these, so Thank you so much for sharing :)
