I am trying to find the site to download Pixresizer with no success. I want to download it on my laptop.
I have it downloaded on my pc and I love it.

Does anyone have the url for the download?

A lot of times if you go to the Help drop down menu and select "about", it will give you a website.

Not a promise, but it maybe a start.

What does this program do?

It resizes your layouts or photos so you can upload them to the Web or send them out in email. It only does one thing, but it does it very well.

You can get it here (http://bluefive.pair.com/pixresizer.htm).

I like the fact that I don't have to open Photoshop. I don't have to make a bunch of decisions. And it does a perfect job every time.

But doesn't Picasa do that also? When you click on email or hello?

(I know my noobie roots are showing)

Or would this be a step so you don't have to have up to 3 copies of the same LO on your drive? So, you can upload it and resize the original instead of keeping one that is mailable or postable?

I don't know if Picassa does it or not. If that is working for you, that is great. If your own graphics software is working for you, that is also great. When I got PIXresizer my attempts at resizing for the Web or email was a crap shoot. Generaly I got bad results.

I got PIXresizer before I got Picassa and my only attempt at sending email from Picassa and through my regular email program wasn't anything I wanted to repeat. I don't remember what the problem was, but I think I couldn't get to my address book or something equally silly.

Also, I ALREADY keep three copies of all completed layouts on my computer. I've got the Photoshop file, a high quality jpeg and the Web file that PIXresizer makes. All three backed up to CD on a regular schedule too. If I'm emailing photos, I'll delete the email versions once I'm sure I'm not going to want them again.

Starling,
Thank you. You gave me the Pixresizer info orginally. I just found the web site to down load it. It is: http://bluefive.pair.com/pixresizer.htm
I got the address from my program that I have on my pc, thanks to a suggestion from someone here.

Jags also taught me last night how to do it from Adobe PS.

Pixresizer really helped me in the beginning when I didn't have a clue what I was doing.

Thanks again!!

I'm trying to use this Pixresizer program to resize a photo to send it through email. I chose the smallest size (25%) for my resized picture.

When I do that and save it, the size of the picture is 124 KB but the resolution is 96. Same thing happened with an actual layout that I resized.

Is this resolution OK to send a photo through email or post a layout here? I thought anything posted on the web or through email had to be a resolution of 72?

I always use the recommended size button. That gives me 600 pixels on the longest side. Since I don't scrap square my short side is smaller than that.

I think my layouts come out a reasonable screen size for the Web, and I've sent out as many as 5 photos that I resized that way with no problems in a single email.
