Has anyone tried to have their design put on an iron on transfer to make an album cover? How did it turn out? What type of fabric did you use?
The package of heat transfer printer paper will have fabric recomendations (I believe it's 100% cotton) so T-shirts take these very well, as do cotton quilting fabrics like white muslin. Another natural fiber like linen or rayon will likely work just as well.
The real key to longevity is the pressing method. Have a flat, hard surface, like some wood you can ruin and cover with fabric, or put your ironing board on the floor. That's not ideal since it's padded.
Press and hold the iron as hard as you can stand...literally, some people do this on the floor and stand on the iron. Move the iron and repeat over the entire design.
I have a heat press for printing Ts that I use for any heat transfer paper, which applies even heat and a lot of pressure. So try to replicate that as best you can.
