DSU261 – Adobe Photoshop Elements: Creating Digital Elements for Beginners (Pre-requisite- DSU 160 or similar experience)
Create realistic embellishments in PSE in this 4-week class, using layer styles and patterns, as well as filters and brushes. This 4 week course will explore the basics of using overlays - transparent works of art for your scrapbook pages! Overlays are the latest look in digital scrapbooking; with such a versatile flair, they add pizzazz to your pages in no time flat. DSU350 – Creating a Home Photography Studio
Students will create their own home photography studio and learn the basics of natural light portraiture in this 4-week class. Build a portable photography backdrop stand out of PVC pipe (materials purchased at a hardware store for less than $10). Then create a backdrop from jersey fleece (materials purchased at a fabric store for less than $30). And then learn how to make your camera and the natural light in your garage (or in a room in your house with a large window) do amazing thing together! Come be a part of DSU 350!! DSU351 – Home Lighting
Learn to work with lighting in your Home Studio! Depend no more on the whim of the available sunlight for awesome studio portraits at home! This course will focus on purchasing good, inexpensive lighting sources for your home studio setup, and learning the basics of lighting setup and function for home studio portraiture. Students will be responsible for the purchase of halogen work lights (one set under $50, two sets of lights for less than $100, depending on your location and shopping resources/resourcefulness), and cloth light diffusers (approximately $20). Halogen work lights can pose a safety hazard due to heat; please use caution when working with this type of home-made studio lighting.
NOTE: Students must have a camera that you can set to manual mode and some sort of backdrop. Instructor Suzanne Walker. $30
