does anyone know if you can download more TEXTURES for the TEXTURIZER?
if so, WHERE?
of course, i only found it a few days ago ... but the only TEXTURES i have are ... CANVAS, BURLAP, SANDSTONE ... and one other that i can't remember.
thanks!
mike
I've wondered this myself...the other one is brick, and I'd LOVE to have more options! I get around it in PS with Layer Styles with Pattern and Texture overlays, but that's harder to do in PSE.
Try Adobe Studio Exchange .com and see what's there. If you find anything, please let me know!
My PSE free trial expired, guess I ought to go buy it so I can teach my class!

Check out escrappers.com for some extra textures there are some great ones you can download, plus you can make some yourself by scanning in materials, photos just experiment.
Okay once you have your texture saved
Then go to filter > texture > texturiser , click on the menu , at the bottom is load texture.
Seem to remember that's how ya do it , must confess I havent used elements for a while but I am pretty sure that's how ya do it.

okay back again when you save the texture .You click right save picture as .It's saved as a bitmap so you need to open it in photoshop first and save it as a psd file then load it.
Hope I made sense

You can keep a seperate folder and design texture out of anything. Then just use the load texture and find that folder, you can also put new images right into your presets

Ok, now I see what it is, you are finding that under the filter button on the menu, those are "plug-ins" , but you can use the texture under the layer styles the same way and this is where you can add any texure you want to the folder and still apply it, here you even have more control as a layer style.
Here you go! Here's a PS screen shot on how to load more textures into the texturizer filter, not the patterns for layer styles. You can load anything as a texture. High contrast b&w images work best. Any file that's PS compatible like jpg, psd, etc. GREAT way to use images to make water marks! I used a pic of a dream catcher, and it made the coolest huge embossed dream catcher on my photo.
Haven't check it in PSE yet...LMK how that goes! Have fun!

ummmm ... the screen shot only came up to show about a 1" x 4" section of the screen shot.
so i didn't actually get the picture.
thanks for trying to be helpful, though.

Amy, that's actually ALL there is to it!
It's just a little arrow that you click on that says Load Texture. Then it will open a window to let you browse to any image you have on file. It's THAT easy!
Here's the PSE screen shot, the option is Load Texture below the other 4 standard options. Then just browse to any image file to use it as a texture.
Of course, there's strategy. Some images work better than others, but you CAN use any image file that's PS compatible!

oh ok ...
but i already found that!!!
i just thought that there would be a way to load more textures into the list with brick burlap canvas and ... the other one.
it is not a big deal. doing it this way is easy enough.
thanks for helping.
you already saw one of my layouts ... maybe two that i did the tecture this way ...
the one with the embossed pink flower paper bkgd and the americas one.
the textirizer is my new best friend!!
thanks again!

I have not done much with making my own textures but I do know that you want a seamless tile or else you will see the seams if the photo is larger than the texture file. PS only uses the grayscale value of the file.
