I spent considerable time creating some text for a mousepad design but didn't finish it. In the meantime I worked on several other projects in PSP.

Now I want to go back to the initial project and create more text ... but can't figure out how to get my original style (font, fill, effects etc.) There must be some way to get it back (please oh please oh please)!

Following PSP help doesn't seem to work, if I right click the layer with the text I don't get an Edit option, nor does choosing the text tool and putting it over the text give me an edit option. Arghhhhh!!!!

AND ... the selection tool is ghosted! What gives?

I know of no way, but will be interested to see if anyone else does.

I can help you for the future if you are using v.9. If I am working on something that I will be coming back to, I save everything I do as a preset named same as document. I might have one for text, one for effects, etc. Sometimes I add a layer with the steps and a note that I've created a preset.

I am using 9.

Would love to know how to save things as Presets. This has happened to me before and it is a real pain ! Keeping my fingers crossed that there is a way!

If you work with vector text in PSP, you are able to go back and edit it. But if you are using raster text, once it is saved it is the same as a photo or layer -- you can edit it with your tools, but not as text. As for the one you already did, if the text was placed on a separate layer, you can copy that layer and try to trace or copy it, but you won't be able to edit it. Try changing the "Create As" from floating to Vector before beginning a new project.
