As a newbie, I'm going to give some advice to other newbies when learning to take the camera off Auto.
There's a lot to learn, obviously, so don't be overwhelmed by all of it and just procrastinate the whole thing! That's what the photography challenges are about, just learning one thing at a time.
I just finished pushing buttons on my camera. I don't know what any of them do, but just pushing them is a step in becoming more familiar with the camera! LOL!
There are a few buttons I already knew how to use, so now I learned how to access and scroll through my menus and how to change my aperture and shutter settings. I don't know WHERE to set them, but now I know HOW!
So just sit down and start pushing buttons. Who cares if you don't know what any of it does! When you read about it in the manual later it will be slightly familiar and not quite so overwhelming.
Now I have enough specific questions that my manual will be helpful rather than making my eyes roll back in my head!
Besides, pushing buttons is always fun! So go push some of yours! I even found the Bulb function for this month's challenge!
