Need help downloading brushes to PSE

I still have PSE 1.0, and I went to Adobe Studio Exchange and downloaded a PS brush. When it came time to load it into PSE, I was told by a popup window that it was not the correct extension for this version of Photoshop. Before I try any more, can I use PS brushes in PSE 1.0? Does anyone know? And what extension should I be looking for? Thanks!!

Did you ever get an answer to this issue???? Hopefully some one will see this and respond....I'll try to look around at adobe.

Was it a .jbr? Sometimes, you can just change the extension to .abr and it will work, but I don't know about the older edition. I have PSE2 and 3.

Any brushes created in ps cs or pse3 will not be backwards compatible with previous versions - just a way that adobe have to make you upgrade!!- check and see at the adobe exchange whether they are compatible with v7 - if so they will be compatible with pse2 ( however im not sure about v1)
