What about a mini scrapbook page? Use a picture of your child and embellish it a little...you can work on a 4x6 size and it will fit great on a folded card.
Jenna did this darling card: http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=4459&password=&sort=2&cat=all&page=1
Maybe you could do something like this but with invitation info
Something like Jennifer did might work too!

LorriePoth had a great invite that is printed in panoramic

Another from Jenna perhaps it could be turned into an invite:

This one was the one i remember from may I thought MommyMonster did such an awesome job:

Hope these give you some good ideas...PS Jenna has a TON more cards in her gallery..

For my daughter, I pasted her head onto a mermaid (for a baby do an Anne Geddes-style thing). So she was a mermaid under the sea. On the reverse side it had all the party info.

Here's a link to the final scrapbook page with the invitation "mounted" on it. They're just like mini scrapbook pages like Liz says!

if it's for a one year old party you could have a pic of them as a newborn and then a recent pic. :)

I think the one that Jenna did that has an elephant on it is so cute! Also the one from mommymonster is adorable too! There are so many things you could do. I think that any scrapbook page could be turned easily into an invite! You will definitely have to post a picture for us!

Hi there!
Im new here and just recently started to navigate the site. I want to make my own invitations for my daughther birthday party..I want to try and make it agreat day for her since her dad Just left for Iraq and won't be here for ANOHTER birthday!
But I have Photo elements 6 and have did a few "things" but..is there any ploppers or maybe 1/2 way made invitations where all I do is add info, her picture and maybe a few elements?
I need something easy and quick as I don't have a lot of time to try and sit and really learn it all and make it from scratch.
If they are free that is even better!
Thanks so much for any help or advice you can give!

the store has several cards available, some generic, some not.
also, while I'm not sure if the freebies do, check there too!
You can create a VERY simple invite with very little work also. Mine are always quite simple just to conserve printer ink so I can print more layoutS!!!!!
