I tried this for the first time last month and drew Karen as my swap partner she sent me 3 photos to scrap for her and I sent her 5 of mine.

We did layouts using them and sent them back. I had a great time working with Karens photos and got a brilliant layout in return.

Elizabeth does the draw, you don't need chat, just to be able to email or exchange pictures by some method.

cindy, in the swaps forum, there is a thread called something like "how to swap (or trading pages)" -- that will hopefully cover all the questions you have. if not, ask away!

Thanks everybody, for helping out with the questions. To answer one, there's always room to join before the host closes it, because each trader still only swaps with one person (or traditionally it's been done that way here).

When you get your swap mate's name, pm or email each other and decide between the two of you if you want to do one page or a double layout, how many photos you want to swap, and what size and dpi.

It's not mandatory that you post a link back here, but it's usually done, so that we can all ooh, ahh, and review each others' surprises!

I hope I am matching you with someone you haven't matched before, but the only other swap showing was Aug. Where do old threads go? Assisted living?

Okay, we got Johanna covered, too.

Now, Jane sent me some truly truly amazing beautiful wonderful (did I say amazing yet?) photos taken in Puno. I couldn't bear the thought of taking anything away from them by giving them elements from a kit, or even drop shadows. And I can never exclude a photo. Sooo....we have a simple and clean but double layout. I hope she likes it - if not I'll have another go.

Here's my page for boodysboo. I had fun with this. It took me 6 tries to download the kit I found for this lo,but I finally got it. I had already designed the basic layout mentally, then I got an e-mail about conceptual design from another site that brought it all together. I tried to use all the photos but it was way too busy so I left out the two that had blurry spots. It really does look better, but even at 500x500 it was still over 125kb, so I had to reduce it further.

Finally got these done for #3, the photos were of her gorgeous wee grandaughter Kara, the 2 pages I did are completely different and don't sit together well at all, but I had to do one my way lol the plain one and then I did another more colourful one....well more colourful in that it includes pink!!
