Regular paper has texture and I'd like to emulate that on my layouts (backgrounds and mats). Does anyone have any tips on what texture (and settings) to use in Photoshop?
Thanks in advance,

I usually use the Sandstone texture in the texturizer filter. I usually set the % up as I high as it will go and the other setting (can't for the life of me remember the name right now) at 2 or 3.

What about a burlap texture? Or a crumpled paper texture? You can crumple up a piece of paper, scan it, change it to greyscale and either save it as a brush or save it as a new texture.

Any suggestions for a linen texture?

if you have a piece of linen hanging around, take a photo of it. and use it as a texture overlay reducing the opacity.
