I am so glad! I can't wait to see this kit after the awsome job you all did with the tsunami (sp?) kit, I was hoping you would do a kit for the hurricane victims.

What a wonderful idea. My heart aches for those devastated people.
I can't begin to comprehend what they are going through.
Thank you for doing this!

what a wonderful idea...my heart breaks for these people... Even though I live far away (north east) and I am willing to host a family in need, if you know of anyone wanting to come this way please let me. I can help with transportation costs as well

Elegant Bows and Lace borders for up-coming holiday photo's and school pictures. Something special that will make everyone what this kit.

This is a great idea. My brother-in-law and his family lost everything in Biloxi, Miss. They got out in time, thank goodness, but now they have to rebuild. We are sending what we can, but this is a really great effort.

Thanks!

:) Fantastic idea! I am new to digital scrap, so wasn't watching sites during the time of the tsunami.
Since the kit is about sunshine please incldes sun, cumulous clouds, maybe some butterflies, bee, dragonflies, flowers and the like to make it lively and fun. This is new to me so maybe you already thought of those.
Thanks for the thoughts of those devastated :( people.

How about a rainbow!

Super idea! Having had my home damaged severely in Hurricane Ivan last fall, I know how much it means to have people--often total strangers--reach out for us in a time of such devastating need. Not that my experience was anywhere even close to what the folks on the Louisiana and Mississippi coasts are going through now.

I'll be watching closely for the kit and plan to buy it, pretty much whatever it consists of. But the concept of Helping Hands comes to mind, if that can be incorporated into a background or an element somehow.

Count me in - I just saw that the black ribbon is being used as a symbol - don't know how that works in with Sunshine.

Broken hearts are mended with love, so I was thinking...

I'm a terrible computer artist, I'm sure the digital divas here at DSP will figure something out if you'd like, however it gets the point across. The other ideas of sunshine, flowers and happy things work too. I also think maybe there should be some actual names, "Katrina", "Hurricane" and the like, in case anyone wants to document how the hurricane affected them.

I just logged on to suggest a fund raiser as some sites are doing so this is terrific. We've made donations to the Red Cross and the Humane Society but at this point they need all the help they can get. I'll be watching for this.

Some dreamy watercolor bg and ribbon would be great!

This is incredible. When I saw that you were doing this I was thinking of a ray of sunshine type element. When I opened the link and saw the name of the kit I just laughed. Thanks for doing this...can't wait to see it.

I would think flower elements and bright colors to signify the hope of tomorrow or something better than what the people in New Orleans are currently experiencing.

This is a great idea. I also like the rainbow idea, sunshine, and bright colors. I also think some softer muted items also so that if people want to scrap what happened to them or their family they can use it, too. Thanks for doing this.

since black ribbon needs to be included, I could see a black/white/gray/yellow (think shabby princess' "urban kiwi" that used green.

This would be extremely versital for b/w photography.

My other "wish list" would be something vintage looking rather than bright/cute.

I plan on buy a whole passel of benefit kits....looking forward to seeing what DSP comes up with!!

how about an overlay which have a feeling of the sun shining down. ooh, or an overlay which gives the dappled feeling of sun shining through the trees (good symbolism there, too)?

an element i'd be interested in, but i can't quite imagine would be a sunbeam. i don't want one that a kid would draw, something more artistic than that.

here's a quote for tina:

sunshine/seeds/new growth - on that thought

"plant seeds of kindness " or hope

"bloom where ever you are re-planted"

anything that signifies hope -rebirth -

"Miracles bloom if we plant the seed" Arlene Shipley

What a great Idea....can't wait to buy this kit...so many people feel like there's nothing that they can do to help...just this little bit of effort will go such long way...it's so wonderful that we can all join our hearts together for one cause....Please send prayers...I have a cousin who was out on a boat right before Katrina hit and have not heard from him yet...last we heard the captain wanted to ride out the storm....

Love the rainbow Ideas....how about pictures of the earth with people holding hands around it....I'm sure it's been done before, but it's a cute idea...shows the unity that our country has.....also how about hugs...or open arms....I also love the idea of the ray of sun shining through.

Will be watching for this kit to come out....

Super idea ! You might also include items like helicopters, busses, waves, a New Orleans skyline as many of the residents of New Orleans will want to scrap their hurricane photo's later. My home survived Frances and Jeanie but there was little appropriate to use for embellishments.

This is amazing. I think there should be some items regarding reuniting. That is where most pictures will probably be taken. I was reading through all the love... It made me cry. I've been on the verge for days but I think being so overwhelmed at trying to grasp what has happened to all those people, I haven't been able to weep. The ideas are so wonderful, especially the ones about mending and replanting. Great idea and a perfect way for all of us who want to be able to express our grief for those people. I will definately purchase.

I’ve been trying to think of something that would represent the south. How about something old southern, maybe old south spiritual. Something that would represent everything these people loved. For elements I can see an old family bible, a rocking chair, something to do with the music of New Orleans, Grandmas recipe cards, old country southern homes, flower gardens, old barns, lots of pencil sketches, a mule. I think you get the idea. I grew up in the south and it is so rich with heritage. I think it would be nice to honor that heritage.

OH! Excellent! Don't forget about Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras!! The people in the south love to Party!!! Maybe mardi gras beads, rich succulant colors of green, purple and gold. Maybe even some of those masks and some other "southern" items that remind them about the good times too! I'm sure once they get back on their feet, they're going to really want to throw a party to end all parties. OH! And don't forget word art, like "Creole" or something, maybe to go with that favorite family recipe. There are soooo many things distinctivly southern I think would make a whollop of laughter and joy to those that need some sunshine!!! What about... word art saying "Oh when the Saints come marching in...." Trombones and the like. I mean they practically invented jazz - am I right? My lightbulb went on... this is going to be an awesome kit. Thanks guys!!

A few "things" come to mind I'd love to see, will buy no matter what! Trying to say very positive!

jazz/musical theme...for the great city's music!

boats and planes...for those who helped save lives!

children's toys...because they don't stop being kids!

ornate frames...in honor of the scrolling wrought-ron balconies that grace the French Quarter!

vintage dressmaker details...in honor of the French-fashion influences of the city throughout history!

oooohhhh i am getting so anxious to see it! we honeymooned in New Orleans and my parents (well, actually inlaws, but I call them mom and dad just the same) had a time share there (they loaned us for the honeymoon) and we on vacation there and had just checked in when they had the manditory evacuation. They were able to get home safe. This kit will be a great way to remember all the good times we had there.

This is my first time posting on your page, but I thought I may could offer a suggestion. You could possibly include things like churches, cathedrals, religous items because as everyone knows, the South is a very religous place. I live in North West Alabama, and right now we have about 300 displaced people living in our town. Most of these people have nothing to go back home to and all they can say is thank God I am alive. I think that sums up everything. Also, as someone else pointed out, New Orleans wasn't the only placed damaged. The eye went right over Waveland and Biloxi in Miss. Also, places in Alabama were heavily damaged. I would also include things like hammers, saws, construction sites. Like I said this is just a suggestion. Also, it's great to see people wanting to help. Thanks!

Hi, I am new to this site and not sure if I am even posting correctly but wanted to say how beautiful this kit is. The people in the South East need all of the support we can give them. My husband is in the Army Nat Grd and has been stationed in Kuwait for almost a year now. He was suppose to come home in November but the unit that would have taken his units place was stationed out of Gulf Port Mississippi. We just found out that since most of the soldiers in MS lost every thing my husbands unit will not be coming home as scheduled. They have been put on hold indefinitely until they can find another unit to take their place. Of course this made me sad knowing that I may not see my husband until next year but at the same time we both understand. At least we have each other and my husband does have a home to come home to. The people in the south have nothing and have lost all of their precious memeories except the ones that they keep in their hearts. Lets keep an open heart and keep giving to those in need and pray for our soldiers overseas. The people in the south should be remembered with purple ribbons for bravery and to let everyone know that they fought a war of their own to survive...like the purple heart.

Great Job DSP designers...
