Photography - for fun or business???

Just wondering how many of you here do photography just for fun? Do we have anyone here that runs an actual photography business? I know Karenj runs a business, anyone else? Would love to see your sites too if anyone has their own photography sites?

Right now- photography is for fun. I would love to have a photography business but do not have enough time right now to devote to really learning about photography.

Hi, yes I have my own business. My day job is U.S. Navy Bio-Medical, Combat Photographer (20 years) and I freelance complete Digital Design Services. I have not launched my site yet, because I'm still in the Navy and the possible business generated I just don't have time for.

My photography is mainly for pleasure, although I do do paid work its not full time, sometimes might only be one job a month especially in winter when its not very busy, other times it could be one job a week. I don't advertise as such, most of my work is by word of mouth as I don't want to do it day in day out.

I recently retired from psychiatric social work career. About a year before that, I registered a business name and have done a limited amount of paid work - photography and retouch/repair of antique photos and some album page work. I love it!

I run photography as a business, but only do a limited amount of work. Mostly weddings because im in the middle of setting up my own studio. I too have a registered name and when my sites up ill be sure to send a link.

Yeah definately send us a link to your new site when its completed! Thats awesome that you'll have your own studio too, way to go!!! Have you posted any of your work in our gallery? Would love to see some of your images.

Fun, Fun, Fun...

I just finished the LVSOnline Digital Photography course and realize that I do NOT really have an eye for photography. But I am going to fight mother nature and keep working at it!!!!! So a photography business is not something I aspire to, just having fun and trying to make my layouts more interesting with better quality pictures.
