PNG Files in PSP 7

I have a friend that is just starting out in Digi Scrapbooking and she is using PSP 7.
We can't find the Update/Patch that she needs in order to view and use her PNG Files.
Does anyone know where she can get this download?

You can open PNG files in older versions of PSP (I had v.5) -- then go to "Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Alpha Channel" -- if there is a transparent background, the black or white will disappear and the background will be transparent.

Someone pointed this post to me when i ran into the same problem.

I can get this problem fixed by using the alpha channels but not the patch Maybe I am not putting it in the right spot? Or is there a way to activate it or something?

Can anyone give me some help?

there have been several pposts lately about not being able to get the patch installed in PSP 7 properly. I think it's time to call jasc/corel and find out what might be causing it!

I'm not sure if even resaving your fixed PNG files will allow them to open properly again. Perhaps you just fix the ones you want to use on your layout, unless you save the fixed ones as PSP files?

That patch psp704ip.exe didn't work in my PSP7. I don't know why. A gal from the chat last week gave me another patch for PSP and it works with PSP 7 version. Boy! what a relief!

If anyone else out there is using PSP 6--it's under Masks > Load From Alpha Channel. Works like a champ!

Will this patch replace all the files I already have in my PSP 7 ? Will I lose current settings. plugins etc?
