Can someone please tell me how to make curly ribbon in PSP8?

I also have X but not loaded yet. I want to get my GoblinGhost kit contributions done before I have to start all over learning new software.

Thank the heavens for you talented souls out there who are so helpful.

I've created waves and bends with the PSP ripple distortion, but the only actual curls I've achieved have been using Av Bros Page Curl Filter, reviewed here (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/featured/pagecurl2pro.shtml) by Lauren Bavin.

I used the AV curl demo filter, it prints AV Bros all over the ribbon/paper so you can't use it. So I twisted up some ribbon and selected a segment to turn into a custom/preset shape. Now I just draw out a bunch of those and make ribbons to my heart's content! If I need a new shape, I can drag it differently, or I can always twist a new one and duplicate that shape.

The effects/highlighting is another story, but I used some real ribbon to guide me,a s well as the AV Bros one I made. It's actually pretty easy once you "see" how to connect the segments and make the highlights.

here are some I made in PSE for my 361 class, but the concept is the same in PSP or PS. You can see how that shape is repeated over and over, and how the shading is a gradient down the center, light, and dark at each side.

This sounds good, but I need step by step instructions how to do this using Av Bros in PSP 9. I tried it and couldn't figure out how to do this. Can anybody help or point out where to find a tutorial on how to do this. I did a google search and did not find a tutorial. Thank you :)

sorry, but there aren't any tutorials on it! No one has ever been able to find one that I know of.

I haven't used AV in a long time, but I know Lauren uses it a lot. We'll have to step by step it in this thread due to the lack of available tutorials!

Sorry, don't be disappointed -- I emailed Av Bros (I have the licensed product) and they did reply. They are working on tutorials for the curling feature. Actually it is easy to play with -- I just make sure that I have a lot of space around the ribbon I'm going to curl so that it doesn't go off the edge of the page and get cut off.

Also check this thread (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7702) - a member tells of a free page curling program. I have downloaded it, but haven't had a chance to work with it yet.

Carti, I abandoned this thread because someone started a new thread here (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7702) which told me exactly where to find an easy plugin to use. I had no problems using it, and it was perfect for my intentions. Check that first and if you still need help in your program, ask again and someone surely can help. I love that plug in, though, and you will, too!

I have used page curl and I think I have some info at home on doing the ribbon. I will look when I get home from work.

http://www.eaglesrestgraphics.com/tutorials/bow.htm

At the bottom of the tutorial there is a short instruction to doing the curled ribbon. Just set your gradient up as it states at the top. Play around with your "S's" a bit and you can come up with a decent ribbon.

Av Bros has a downloadable Page Curl Pro 2.1 User Guide (http://www.avbros.com/english/downloads.html) on their website.

No one has mentioned Vizros which is a free program. I don't think the curls are as nice as with AV, but it is free and their manual shows how to do the curl.
