I have a gremlin today with psp9. When I try to add any text into a new or existing file the whole program crashes and it says an error has been created !!.
This has never happened before. I have tried restarting my PC, gone into file preferences and deleted the cache file and made sure I have the latest patches loaded.

i know my PC has been running slow and I need a faster machine for optimum use but this is the first time this has happened

Any one else observed similar problems ??

I would like to know the answer. I had problems with PSP X slowing down to an abysmal crawl when I was playing with text.

in this case I'd recommend computer maintenance with defragging the HD, spyware, adware, virus checks, disk scan. Delete all unecessary files, temp files, internet cache, the whole 9 yards. Get that machine purring as loudly as you can. Use the internet to learn ways to optimize your disk space and available memory. Just spend a day doing that instead of scrapping. You'll have a great learning experience, and likely really enjoy your new power and scrapping ability after you've done all that.

Let us know how it goes!

Emma - believe me, I did all that - I even moved almost all of my kit files to my external drive to give me more disk space. I need a more powerful computer but this one is only like 3 years old... well maybe 4 year technology wise.

What I was doing was trying to wrap text around a vector object. I don't know if it was that or the font I was using - DSP Stamped Kasbah, because using the same font in a straight line was slower than other fonts. But using another font trying the wrapped text was no better. I'm wondering if PSP X is just too much for this machine.

I'd ask GizmoBird; she has several PSP links bookmarked with great information! I haven't had the problem you mention, but will experiment with the font you mention on a path & see what happens (out of curiousity). I still have PSP8.1 and PSP9 on this computer. Version 9 was usually pretty stable for me, except when I moved too quickly when it was trying to save or had too many things going on at once. But I did turn off the auto-save and try to remember to save on my own.

Pam - I didn't have very many problems with PSP 9. In fact, I'm installing it on the desktop.

Any one else observed similar problems ??I follow several PSP boards and have not seen this as problem for others. Is the error a script error? I have seen that occassionally myself with color picker, but it only happens occassionally. I would suggest either calling Corel support or trying one of the PSP specific forums.

A simple way to check if the font is the problem is to use a standard font like Arial. If you don't have any problems with it, you can assume there is a problem with the font.

Thanks guys for your feedback. Gizmo I think you may be right and it could have been a dicky font ??? I actually reloaded psp9 late last night and it works OK.
I will also spend some time cleaning up my computer as Emma suggested .
Thanks again everyone for your replies its really appreciated.
