Looks like a lot of great fonts but nothing is for free. What happens once you download? Do you then get bombarded with a lot of unwanted email ads or something of that sort? I'm always so nervious about downloading stuff and don't do it much.

Have you downloaded from there?

You must have gotten the wrong web site. I download from there all the time and never had to pay for anything for the past 3 years. the font come in a zip file that has to be unzipped. They don't come with any add or anything just font files. The site does have a section of commercial use fonts but the freebies far outnumber the rest. ;)

Just to back up my4monkeys I've used this site many times as well over the years, and never had any issues. :)

Great post for a great site!

Thanks!

Well, I've been downloading fonts for about an hour. Needed some Halloween type and found some great ones on 1001fonts.com. I was able to download them, extract them and put them in my "Fonts" file and can use them in "Word" as well as PSE.

First time I ever did this so it was fun. dafont.com had some Celtic ones I like but I'll get them tomorrow.

So many fonts - so little time. Thanks again.

This site has some awesome decorative fonts and they're all FREE :D

If you shorten that and go to Typeoasis designers, you'll find a list of very good font sites, and some unique fonts.

If you want some really interesting fonts and some unique alpha sets, check out Manfred Klein's fonts.

I contacted Paul Lloyd with my first scrapbook class to get permission to use on of his fonts. He was soooo nice, and his fonts are absolutely stunning.

That they are ! I had been to that site months ago and discovered his and those of the other designers there. My hard drive crashed at work a couple of weeks ago and I lost a TON of bookmarks.. not all, but a lot. I was glad I re-discovered that site and his.
