After some gentle guidance from posters I worked on my drop shadows and scaled back my font usage (lol). Just thought I'd post my "improved" LO here if anyone would like to take a look. Thanks!

I also commented under your layout, but thought I'd agree with Elizabeth here -- and tell you how much I enjoyed the concept of your layout -- new bride taking photos (WOW, how great to be a part of the digital generation). I could never have done such a thing -- but do have paper scrapbooks with bells cut from the gift wrapping paper and little pieces of the ribbons glued over that before adding the cards, headlines, and notes about the day. I even saved all of the bows and made a pillow from netting to hold them (it was on our bed for years).
The shadows do make the photos pop out, you might experiment with a slight blurred shadow on the words also (on paper layouts, they are also a layer and when photographed would have a slight shadow).

Thank you Pam - I didn't even think about the text being more of a layer over the textured overlay and that DOES make sense then to add a shadow. I will tinker with this today and also I think I'm going to modify the bottom sentence font because I'm not really keen with the spacing of the words - they each seem a million miles away from each other.
How neat that you have those touchable, tangible scraps for your wedding books. They sound very, very pretty and also priceless. My own ceremony was bare bones "efficient" - off to the courthouse between feeding the dogs and dropping my daughter off at school as I absolutely insisted that I didn't want to fuss at all... now that I'm scrapping I kind of wish that I had. :)
Oh but the opportunities you WILL have -- and with your sense of style and great enthusiasm, you will find/create many layouts from experiences that are just too special to let go -- you'll make lasting memories with your scrapbook pages! I'll be watching your gallery and am thrilled that you joined DSP.
