Shooting RAW

This might not be the right forum for this question but I'm going to ask anyway. I tried to shoot .RAW today for the first time. When I tried to upload the photos they didn't go into photoshop. Why? Can that be done? Is there some problem or something very different about .RAW files?

You need the Camera RAW converter plug-in from Adobe to be able to view .RAW files. The plug-in comes with Photoshop CS2. I'm not sure if it's still available for previous versions of Photoshop though. You might want to check the Adobe website.
