Hello, I am new to digital scrapbooking and would love to get started to make my daughters 1st birthday invitations for her birthday just before christmas but I dont have the appropriate software. DH can get Corel for me but I dont know if I can digital scrapbook using it, my questions are 1. Can I use it and 2. if so is it easy?
Thanks in advance for any help.

corel has a lot of programs, which were you thinking about? if you click on new to digital in the top menu, there's a lot of info about the different programs too. hth! :)

If you have Corel Paint and Draw (i think those are their graphics programs) yes you can scrap with them. Paint Shop Pro (used to be Jasc) is also a good program. We even have some tutorials for them. Kim is our resident Corel Expert :)
Corel Draw? I have a very old version, but one of the designers used to use that -- not sure of the learning curve. Corel also just purchased Paint Shop Pro -- wonderful work can be done with either of these, but you will have to learn some basics of using the program. There are tutorials to help you get started -- and if your DH is familiar with the program's basics, he may be able to show you. But Corel also makes other programs.
Did your computer come with Picture it! or Broderbund Print Shop? They will also work to get you started with invites and layouts, they just don't have as many tools to help you work with your photos. Let us know -- someone is likely to have the program you choose and can help.

Hi corel draw is great, I use it for scraping...it not too hard to use but you do need a good computer to run it...it's a large program & needs a lot of ram to run, the only reason if it crash's is because it dosn't have enough ram..other than that I love it & found it easier to master than other graphic programs...hope that helps... ;)

Thanks so much for you help. But I have been lucky enough to get a copy of Elements 2.0 and find that pretty easy to use. I have now done Carlie's invitations and a couple of other pages, just not sure if they good enough to add to the gallery being I am not experienced in scrapbooking.
Please do add them to the gallery ... it's always good to get opinions and it'll give you such a good feeling to have some positive feedback. We all started at one time and felt the same way you do!
Welcome to DSP! Corel Paint Shop Pro and Corel Draw are both great for scrapping. Not so many use Draw, but PSP is really popular.
Glad to see you uploaded your pages! We're here to learn and share, not show-off, so anything is good enough. Welcome!
