I'm doing good so far - 3 weeks into WW. I lost 1.6 lbs over a 2 week vacation (well one week was vacation, one was work BUT I did have to eat over 20 meals out at restaurants). I was pretty darn proud of myself for that.

Weigh in is tomorrow - i'm actually really excited for it!

i joined 3 ww recipe groups at yahoo and browse the recipe review board on the ww site.... I can probably stuff a 3 ring binder right now. I figure if i scrap some of them i will be more likely to try them. I made muffin meatloaf last night and it was awesome.

My 16 yr old DD and I were going to sign up online to do WW together, but I'm thinking that with our lack of willpower, we'd be better off going to the meetings. My mom has offered to pay for my DD's portion, so that would help! I think they're running a special right now. Anyway, we're going to our first meeting in 3 weeks. I'm having sinus surgery next Thursday, so wont start until after I'm released from that.

Still here, still losing on WW (thankfully), still adjusting to baby (4 mo. old-he's doing beautifully) and almost-4-year old boy (I love him desperately, but AAAHHHH!), return to FT job, and TRYING to get to a gym where I won a free 3 month membership. I've gone once, last weekend, woo hoo.

I'm now down 15 lbs on WW! I am much looser about tracking my points, and I'm basically subsisting on salad and WW Smart Ones frozen meals (that sounds much better than 'TV dinners,' doesn't it?). But knock on wood, every week has been a 'down arrow,' whether it was 1.4 lbs or .2 lbs (I kid you not, I had a 'down .2 lbs' week after a weekend trip away).

Just been too crazy in life to scrap right now, except *maybe* on a Friday or Sat night. Oh, I miss DSP!

Keep up the good work, folks. And BRAVO Jen & PrincessLaLa, welcome aboard Valeri, and how's it going the rest of you losers?

I think the meetings are key!! I tried online once and it didn't work so good. I am a pretty shy person, so joining in at strange boards was a bit hard for me.. just like it is hard in the meetings at first. But it really does help so much to be there in person and seeing the people and hearing them tell their struggles, triumphs, ideas, and encouragement!! good luck with your surgery!

I really want to lose some weight, but I don't think I'll be joining a program such as WW at the time. I want to just start off by eating healthy and portioned meals and snacks. I don't live close to a gym so I workout at home just using dumbells, and I get exercises off the net and try them out, and sometimes running up and down the hill in our yard. Seems like most of the losers here are on WW. I find that buying healthy food costs enough as it is. The hardest thing for me is resisting those tempting sweets like cake, chocolate and ice cream! I plan on buying some low fat treats to help me. I hope I'll have some success with this. I noticed there is alot of support here! :D

Well I am not a big loser, because I lost five pounds and gained it back, then got depressed, and I've been wallowing in self pity. I'm back on my plan now but I haven't been posting....because...I know this is silly...my ticker says I lost five pounds and I've been too lazy to go and change it. It's is like I have a mental block about changing it in reverse. (WOW, I feel like I just made a major confession!)

Butterfly, yes a lot of people follow WW, but I don't. It is a great program and works for many people. But do what works for you. We are all here to support each other. Please share what is working for you and what isn't working for you.

I had a trainer once who told me she never wanted to hear me say I was on a diet. I asked her why and she said that anyone who is on a diet, will eventually be off a diet, then they will be on a diet, then they will be off...

And then there is the question, if I've been on diets and I have had a trainer, why am I still not a loser? That my friends, is one of the many mysteries of the universe:)

Good luck losers...and as my husband says...let's plan our work and work our plan and get losing!!!!!

p.s. I changed the ticker to be correct:)

Butterfly- i know WW can seem expensive, which is why i don't go to meetings or use their online tools. I never have, and probably never will. I got all the info i needed to follow the WW lifestyle from websites and message boards. If you ever want to try it, lemme know and i'll share what i know. And GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

I say do what works for you!! that is what is important. No plan is BETTER then the next, they all work if you work them. it is just a matter of finding what works for you and sticking to it! I hope this forum is a great resource for support. This is not easy to go alone

According to your ticker, you ARE a loser!! you have lost 2 lbs! dont worry about what you gained back.. just go forward. I gained too after a setback, but that isn't what matters. I like what your trainer says, because it can't be a diet, it has to be change. I have done this many times, and I know that it works when I do it, but not when I don't. Thanks!!!

I'm still here and I really and truly want to be a loser.

I seemed to lose and gian back the same 4 or 5 pounds. Starting over again and again, I just get confused and frustrated as to what works.

Seems like I just have to wipe the slate clean in my head and start fresh. Forget what I used to do and follow a plan to the letter.

This week I am starting over agian with low carb Atkins diet. Re reading the book and everything.

Atleast I haven't given up. That's about all I have gotten going for me right now and the fact that me and my mom (who lives an hour a way) are writing each other via email and reporting what we ate that day, good or bad. That gives me someone to report too.

My husband and I just bought a new scale with body fat monitoring. I weighed myself for the first time in a long time and I wasn't happy with what I saw. I also bought alot of healthy food to get me started. I'm going to keep track of my weight along the way with a spreadsheet. Can someone tell me how often should I weigh myself? Like once a week? And is the morning the best time to weigh?

Good for you!!!! Its so hard when you battle the same weight over and over again. Way to go for not giving up!

I am sure you will get many different answers as there are personalities! lol For me.. I will only weigh in at my WW meetings. That is once per week. My reasons for this are because weight fluctuates and it can become a battle with the scales and it really shouldn't be like that. This is supposed to be a long term thing, so over time you will see a pattern of loss. The scale should not be your only measurement. It is important to measure yourself in inches too, so that when the scale doesn't go down, you can see that you are still losing inches. Muscle weighs more than fat. keep a journal of your food too, if you can. When you are having difficulties it helps to look back at your journals and see what you did differently the weeks you did better. As for when you weigh... I don't think it matters as long as you do it the same time (approximately). This is just from my experience and my opinion, others may have other ideas for you! :)

Thanks I'm going to try to keep a journal of what I eat and drink daily. I made my spreadsheet and think I'll weigh myself every Friday since I've decided to start keeping track tomorrow (Friday). I added categories for body fat % and body water % to my spreadsheet since my scale has monitors for that, just to see how it changes. I'm still surprised by my weight, I'll admit I cried when I saw it. But my husband says I don't look like I weigh that much. I'm ready for a lifestyle change!!!

Count me in as a loser too. I started WW in April, dropped out in June (summer vacation, travel, food...) anyway I re-joined WW five weeks ago, am in week six and have lost 5 new pounds, essentially what I had gained from my summer time off. But I am down 23 pounds from April....now about this other 25 - 30 pounds.... I guess I'm in it for the long haul, but this week was disappointing, I had my first gain ever at a weigh-in! And I've been good too! It's okay though, I finally switched out of my "weigh-in" light-weight sleeveless summer dress and wore jeans yesterday, so I don't mind the .8 showing up on the scale, I still think I lost this week.

Does anyone know where I can get a free printable chart online to keep track of what I eat each day? I've been trying to make one on the computer but its not printing correctly.
