This is a poem written by my DH a year or so ago. It has been published, for which I am extremely proud! :D Below is the description he included in the book.
"The Lord gave this poem to me during a sermon by my pastor. He was talking about how a bird dog grows from a puppy to a field champion, and I was inspired to think about my daughters, Lecia, Amy, and Terri. It is dedicated to them. I am a Master Chief Petty Officer in the US Coast Guard and we have moved a number of times. These moves have given my daughters an appreciation of all people, no matter who or what they may be. I hope this poem will help dads appreciate even the most simplest of moments because soon they will ask, "Where Did the Time Go?" Thank you, Lord, for the blessings in my life."
I held you in my arms
and looked into your eyes
and wondered.
What would you be?
How would you look?
When you were grown like me.
Who would have you?
When you are no longer just mine.
A Laugh,
A Cry,
A Tear,
A Smile.
Now I wonder, Where did the time go?
