Can someone help me with this or give me some ideas on how to put together a flyer for a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for my two nephews who are autistic? I tried to create in word using clip art but got frustrated so thought I would come to the experts! Anything will help!
Thanks and God Bless All!

Cheryl,
I have this great font at home I think it is called spagetti dinner or something like that it is really great....I will try and find the link to it now and if I can't find it I'll get the link tonight when I get home. It is like forks holding up spagetti off a plate and the noodle makes the letter...might be fun...I also think that The kit that was used a while back for the recipe crop might be nice...the checked background to me gives an italian restaurant feeling to it...and maybe you can add a clipart of spagetti or even the italian flag??? some breadsticks even..

Anywhoo...I'll get back to you with that link!

Liz, I downloaded the spaghetti font but it's only a solid color - is there something special I have to do to keep the colors from the website? It doesn't look right with solid color text - you lose the effect. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Cheryl

You can use your graphics program...do you use photoshop or PSE2??? I can help you with specifics...I think on the site they do that to make it fun...but allow you to have control over the look so they give you black.

Yes, I do use PSE2. Can we make it look like actual spaghetti? Thanks for everything. We're raising money to send my nephews to a Sensory Institute in Colorado to possibly help them process information and hopefully speak someday. God Bless!

I have a daughter that has sensory problems as well. She is perfectly healthy in other ways (thank God) but has sensory integration disorder. We built her a bed that swings from the ceiling and enrolled her in gymnastics class and it has helped so much. If you ever want to exchange ideas with this issue, let me know. I think I might have some helpful spaghetti stuff too!

I LOVE the KA fonts, they're always so fun!

In PSE2, to make it not black, use layer styles. You can add a gradient (which looks like all they did on the web site), pattern overlay, shadow, etc. Rasterize the font to add filters and even more effects.

You can also hand paint parts of it. Make a new layer and Ctrl-Click the thumbnail for the text layer. This creates a selection in the shape of your text.
Now with the brush, add some color.

Have fun! And best to you on the fundraiser and treatment!

Thank you so much for the information - I am such a beginner that I have no idea what rasterize means. I got the outline effect to work but not the gradient or anything else. Can you give me more detailed instructions or is there a tut on this anywhere? Thanks so much for the well wishes on the fundraiser. The boys are so adorable and just 11 days younger than my oldest daughter and are non-verbal so hopefully the therapy may help them speak someday.

This is a great PSE site (and PS too)
http://www.arraich.com/elements/pse_sstyles1.htm Here's one on styles, haven't looked at this particular one myself.

Let me know ho wyou like it, if it helps. Later today or early tomorrow I can open PSE and take a peek at this specific issue if you need me to. Just take a peek at this web site and if it helps you, great! If not, I'll take a look.

Have fun!
